this bloke will take us down as bottom of the league, he is a coward as a manager, starts off defensively and when we have a chance to push on for a winner he bottles it with subs used and we lose
A bit harsh on NR. I think he should be given time in L1 (COS WE WON'T STAY UP OPTIMISTS) to form his own team & see how he goes on possibly till xmas, but I have to agree with extreme negativity especially in must win games!!!
There are no excuses. These are his players, his shape, his tactics. Loosing to the only teams below us is very poor. If we would have won we would have been up with Blackburn and feeling comfortable. Very very poor. When we go down be under no illusion that we will build and come back stronger, it won't happen. Crowds back to 4-6 k no money only excuses. We can't afford to go down or its years playing in the lower leagues.

WE ARE a lower league club who just happen to be playing in the Championship!!
For all the talk of midtable & bringing in experience in the summer, the fact remains that we haven't got the infrastructure or playing budget or indeed crowdbase to compete in this league, no matter who's in charge of the team!!!
brad if we would have had those two results under evans you would have slaughtered him, NR is out of his depth if he stays next year we will be in the bottom half

You've got a point there DM, but my point stands, we won't break the wage structure & as the old saying goes "if you pay peanuts, you get "experienced" monkeys", but I take your point about me having an intense dislike for the previous manager, I do however, think NR will be in trouble if he persists with his ultra negative tactics.
Brad NR is out of his depth the facts are clear to see, lets plan for next season now I just hope that the club had a termination clause in his contract based on relegation, although I think as a club we don't know how to do contracts. leave him until end of season then invoke that clause that we should all hope is there.
NR stop being so negative you will get more support from the fans if you go hell for leather until end of season
Couldn't disagree more Derby. Changing manager in the situation we are in would be totally the wrong thing to do. We can't be so
short term. He came in to a club in a state and is trying to keep us up but change things at the same time. He gets stick for being negative but we score plenty of goals. He will do a good job if given the time, chance and support. I hope the board have the courage to stick with him. Clubs that change their manager regularly tend to perennially struggle. Lee Johnson was the worst manager Barnsley ever had until a few weeks ago but now he is sought after hot property. The people calling for his head need to take a deep breath, calm down and get behind the manager and the club.
smiler i don't say change the manager now I say at the end of the season if he fails to keep us up. If he does I will be the first to praise him and say well done, because winning 8 out of the remaining 16 following his current win ratio would be a hell of an achievement, l god I hope he does it I really do.
You state that a managers win ratio is a meaningless statistic yet how will you measure him in terms of doing a "good job" if it is not by his results? You will be one of the few people that don't measure the success of their club and therefore their manager by results.
You state that clubs that change managers struggle, yet chelsea and watford would be exceptions to your rule, southampton haven't done bad either. He needs to be given the chance to prove he knows what he is doing and is capable but at the end of the season the club are quite within their rights to make an assessment of him and decide on what to do next season, especially if he takes us down.
So to be clear
1. I don't think he should go now
2. The club should decide at the end of the season
3. I do believe that the manager should be judged on the results
4. I think it would have been prudent for the club to have had contingency clauses in his contract
5. I also believe if we go down it should be playing a more attacking style and not being frightened to go for it
6. I also don't believe we should boo at games or leave early
I thought I would spell it out for you so that you don't misquote me again!!
I mentioned last week the point protection policy will take us down. Scoring before half time, 1st 15mins of 2nd half we were getting at them and its then we have to be bold. Burke, Newell & Ward are no good to us if they're not allowed to do what they're good at in the final 3rd. To take off Burke (along with Newell the only 2 who know where the net is) and put on Green was spineless and you get what you deserve doing that. If Redfearn doesn't realise sharpish that 451 protectionism doesn't suit us we're going down. With the players we have it should be enough but we are not brave enough, that comes from the management & that is inexcusable. We might lose a few more heavier, but we'll damn well win more and get the points needed. Very sad times
