Halford

I realise he's s complete prat and probably disruptive due to how he was treated by Steve Evans , but I believe he is not a bad player and God knows we need decent players at the moment , he would do a decent job in midfield and definitely a better job at right back than we have at the moment , also he must have some self respect and want to put things right , lets remember how Broadford was treat by a lot of fans when he was at fullback but now he's in his preferred position look at him now playing tremendously , loads of players make similar mistakes that Halford as (off field twitter etc) and manage to come back . No one is going to take him off us and we are apparently paying good money to him so it can't be rocket science to make it work .

I have also been giving this some consideration. I just wonder what would happen if played him just in front of the defence instead of Paul Green.

He's on the books and on pay and therefore a potential asset. Obviously the club may think he has gone too far to come back into the fold. I guess its down to him really, swallow some pride and mend bridges and try to make a come back. Would like to see the club get some value for money but dont hold your breath.

Sounds like Belaid is out injured. Halford either at R back or midfield in place of Green. Thorpe in otherwise.

Camp
Facey or Halford Rawson Broadfoot Mattock
G Ward Smallwood Halford or Thorpe Newell
Shinnie
JCH

what gets to me is that he has been /is a decent player and we can use all of them that we can get. Then again the team is overflowing with superstars who can do no wrong, carrrying all before them.hmmhmm

Said same as crissando on another thread. I think he is capable protecting the defence in midfield.

He won't be fit, doesn't want to play for us, was truly awful when he did play for us and would ruin any sense of team spirit that we might have, He has shown the club - meaning the supporters as well - a complete lack of respect. I would rather us fetch Paul Raynor back and play him in midfield than pick Halford. When a team is struggling a bit it is always the ones not playing who become the best players, but suggesting picking Halford is stretching a point way too far.

Not saying he's one of best player's but when you are struggling you hsve to use all resources

No . He's not for this team. If he wants to get back he does it on the training field and tells the manager he is sorry and wants to fight for the team. If he did that he has as much chance as anyone. Otherwise it''s desperation. Let's just remember how poor he has been. It's always been up to him.

Ian is right Halford should be allowed to get himself back in the managers thoughts by eating humble pie and proving on the training field that he deserves a chance. His behaviour has been awful, but in midfield for forest he was a decent championship player so we have an asset that we are paying for that we are getting no value from.
I do think there is a obligation on the manager to try again, to use the new assistant manager to sit with halford clear the air, get him to publicly apologise to the club and fans and commit to work for a chance until the end of the season.

I wouldn't care if he's eaten my pet rabbit in the past. Bottom line is he is a resource that we are paying for and he is probably better in midfield than what we have.

I'd play him up front alongside JCH.

He was uninterested and poor in that role against Stocksbridge,  and we tried it for a few minutes at Brighton and he gave about eight free kicks away.  We will never see him play for us again, and rightly so.

Well the current team look spineless & passionless anyway so I can't see what harm adding another one to the mix that does have actual footballing ability. To be honest he's probably the best right back we have at the club (not difficult) but think he's alienated himself to the point of no return.
