Bolton Predictions

Well, just as we thought we would be able to pull away from the bottom we hammer another nail in the preverbial coffin on Saturday last.

But all is not lost, February is a key month for us as March is looking on paper like its going to be a lean month.

So after the debacle  and the dust has settled, may i dare ask you all for your predictions and goal scorers against Bolton.

I am thinking 2-1 (yawn) for the Millers, with Becchio/Ward scoring.

But thats only if he goes for it and plays 4-4-2 which i think we have to do.

I was wondering if some brave soul might do a prediction for this game...and you did it.

Well, firstly, I dont feel like predicting because I do indeed feel a little negative. I am also quite impressed with how Bolton are handling the pressure of their overall situation. That being said, I know we are capable of a good display and Bolton can fold. So, its going to be very much on the day rather than which team is actually better.

All the signs suggest a draw to me and as Ive taken up betting recently, I ll stick with that.

1-1

Think NR will play 4 5 1 again, he likes that, at least until half time, then when its all going pear shaped he reverts to 4 4 2. Sorry but can't see anything other than a narrow win for the home side as we are travelling over with two Trotters fans as we did last season and had to suffer the gloats all the way back to South Yorkshire, they live in Donny!

2 1 Bolton!

Unless some drastic ethos changes we wont win away again all season, clueless in final third and always likely to concede 1st which spells curtains for us. 2-0 Bolton

Cheer up chaps!!!
Not too long ago, some were certain we were the next Blackpool who would be cut adrift..........It's now February and we are still out of the relegation places (I know, not by much but, enough if the season finished today).
The team is looking ok, we have new faces that need time to gel, onwards and upwards, 3-0 Millers (Newell/Grant/ JCH)

from the BBC website:

Bolton have lost only one of their last nine home league games against the Millers (W4 D4) and won this meeting 3-2 last season.
Rotherham have scored eight goals in their previous two meetings with the Trotters, winning 4-2 in January 2015 and 4-0 in December 2015.
All of Rotherham's last 10 goals against Bolton have been scored by different players in three meetings between September 2014 and December 2015.
17 of Bolton's 21 points this season have been won at the Macron Stadium.
Only Bolton (11) have lost more league games on the road than Rotherham this season (10).
Of the last seven league goals scored by the Wanderers, each has been scored by different players.

Should be a good match - just need to score 1 more than them - simple !!!

Looking forward to Bolton today. Last time I went there they played at Burnden Park. I love the fact that we are battling to stay in the Championship and visiting grounds like this. If we win it will be fantastic but no guarantee of survival. If we lose it won't be the end of the world, although you wouldn't know it if you have P&G on as you edge closer to South Yorkshire. Bolton don't actually lose many at home. Might be a draw this one. I think in midfield I would play Newell in with Smallwood, G Ward right and Burke left. Newell is as good on the ball as we have got. Burke has played wide left many times before. Give Shinnie a go behind D Ward. That sort of line up did for Bolton at the NYS.

After last week's drubbing by Charlton I must say it's too close to call.

Bolton 3 Millers 1

I cannot see Bolton as relegation fodder.

I"m going for a battling 2-2 draw. Would prefer Becchio to start rather than Danny Ward.

Newell and Grant Ward to score.
