January is taking its toll. Probably the most depressing of months and for good cause. The start of a new year when all our hopes and fears come into sharp relief. A sober assessment or flight into fantasy Vs depression.
Oneaday has good cause to be in fantasy mode right now, but will his dreams prove as unrealistic as England winning any sort of Trophy this year. S8, bemoans his inability to cash in on the Bonus culture, but realistically he should balance this with the knowledge it cant last forever. Take a leaf out of smilers book. Not only a self confessed pessimist but a realist also. Fighting against the odds with a mature stable but unrelenting skill set he closes 'the impossible' Canyon to the less blessed members of our contrite club.
What have the rest to moan about! The truth is however, that success and failure are but distractions to the inevitable pattern-plain to see, but hard to comprehend-of life. I think disney called it 'the circle of life'
There's more to see than can ever be seen More to do than can ever be done There's far too much to take in here More to find than can ever be found But the sun rolling high Through the sapphire sky Keeps great and small on the endless round It's the Circle of Life And it moves us all Through despair and hope Through faith and love Till we find our place On the path unwinding In the Circle The Circle of Life
So, this week Bonus: who will complete the circle of life in one drama infested, emotionally driven, shocking transformation from hero to zero or zero to hero.
and to appease and help S8, we the committee have relaxed our usually totalitarian reflection of the nature of existence to allow 2 chances to feel good.
You get 2 chances to predict a team that will either win from a losing position or lose from a winning position. If both your choices comes up then its not just happy glowing feelings but over the top taunting of the less fortunate as you succeed in the circle of life.
please note that as some teams are playing twice in week 28, that if you do not stipulate the fixture, I will assume it it the first one.
15 points for each team.
Manyana.
N. B. You don't have to stipulate which team will win or lose. Hence the double chance.

Congratulations to MMM. So far the season has been a desperate disappointment to the one time starlet, but today reminds us of the undoubted talent latent down the spine of the team. Unfortunately, its their second season and many are suggesting that Jordan Bowery or Arsenal are more precise metaphors than Barcelona or Ronaldo for the teams current league standing.Still, lets not detract from a great one off performance for the lads at MMM spar cooperative together.
Pushing MMM close is the controversial and inconsistent GHF. Yet again discipline in the camp has seen a possible loss of 8 points and a share of the podium this week. It seems that on game 6 they were poised to bag a sitter when simple distraction at the bar took over ."Big Jenny' arrived to pour the pints for the team and this was enough for GHF management team to take their eye of the ball and scuff it hopelessly wide. Jenny wiped up the mess...as usual.
Criticism of this weeks bonus has been accepted as there was little chance of actually winning it. Although most of the league is vastly under performing at present the MBPL accepts that with no teams performing the circle of life it may have been better to include an opt out clause. Nevertheless, this does not excuse otherwise poor performances both home and away. MBPL , hopes that teams will concentrate on their own performance as much as they do on others.
Thank you
The board and directors.
