Not so much Halford and we all know Bowery but to not even attempt to cash in and to lose all that cash with Bowery...
Does it suggest a weak Boardroom? I suppose it could be seen two ways; either its more penny pinching, or it is a willingness to take the hit and get behind the new Gaffer.

What a complete waste of a "record signing" at the time Bowery was. He has talent in him, but a lazy couldn't care less attitude which will have him fade into probable non league obscurity. My main memory of him is the absolute sitter he missed at Boro earlier on this season which would have given us an unexpected point.
Bowery for me has never shown any real sign of quality - I was scratching my head when we signed him, it was so out of the blue. Bowery offers nothing, whether that's strength, heading, finishing or hold up play. Would struggle at League 2 level IMO.
As for Halford, this was a player SE signed base on "name" - he heard he was available and snapped him up without any scouting or preparation. Iv heard he is the outright highest earner so makes sense for him to be the first to leave.
Bowery has something but as of yet nobody can translate that into consistent performances. In the end he has to do it himself. With a bit of regret I would accept that he has had his chances, and we have to move him on to make way for someone else. Nobody is going to pay a fee for him. He got his big move to Villa but is now working his way back down the divisions because he hasn't done it. A lesson for JCH.
Halford was a disaster all ways round. One of the worst signings in the history of the club in my opinion when you compare expectation (Evans brought him in with a huge fanfare) with reality. My abiding memory of him will be when as captain in the first game of the season at home to MK Dons he was playing desperately badly and to blame for a couple of goals, and started waving his arms at everyone else before putting his head down. I maintain that at half time against MKD there was a clear sense that we had recruited badly and were in trouble. I don't blame all our woes on him, but I saw him a couple of times in pre-season games and whether he did care or not I can't be certain, but he just looked like he never wanted to be with us.
It looks like the Belaid signing might finally render Collins surplus to requirements.
I doubt we will want to keep both Buxton and Richardson now that we have Facey.
Derbyshire is already behind D Ward and JCH in the pecking order and I doubt he will want to be fourth or fifth choice behind Becchio and possibly one other so he is another likely leaver in my opinion, unless he just wants to sit his contract out.
The fact that we allowed Maguire to play in the cup suggests we will never see him again.
I would guess that all the players mentioned are amongst our higher earners and if they are not going to play they need to be moved on. I can't really make a case out for keeping any of them.
The only one id consider keeping hold of (dependent on how we do in Jan) is Derbyshire - however again he is a high earner and I doubt we can justify paying his wages for a 4th / 5th choice striker.
Derbyshire would make an excellent full back, and if the ball needs hacking behind into the stand for safety he nails it every time.
Good to see the big decisions are being made, with the amount of budget busting dross it will be a minor miracle if we stay in this league, on the other side of that - if we do stay up how bad would we have to be to go down?!
These two have been told they can leave as they are not in the clubs plans, that suggests to me we are not looking for a fee for them much the same as White who Barnsley have now snapped up for nowt !!!!!
