I don't think it changes much. Sounded dire, don't think either did enough to warrant a win, had we got a point I'm sure we'd have all being saying it's a useful one.
The reality is we need 40 points from 26 matches, that's 11 or 12 wins almost 1 every other game which equates to promotion form.
Redfearn took on the mother of all messes with his hands virtually tied, and we all knew how much harder this season would be even after last Christmas.
Blind hope cannot hide the numbers and the fact that the damage was done last season and this summer, its time to rebuild and that takes time. I think we'll eventually be stronger for it, but as for the now, we need to realistic and draw a line through it / learn the hard lessons.

A sensible and sadly, very true view of the situation. For me I'm beginning to lose hope that we can salvage something from this season
i recently started to believe what the pro Redders were saying: we might have lost the last 6 but they were all really hard fixtures.
Although this wasnt true as 3 on those 6 games were against very mediocre opposition at the time: wedensday, Brentford and Reading. Also, Ipswich (who werent pulling up any tress) at home was as bad a performance as many of us could recall.
Nevertheless he deserved more time though I admit I would have sacked him after that initial run of performances and woeful decisions that if we are honest we would not have let SE get away with.
6 Games =1 point.
The next 4 games have secured 6 points. If we were to repeat this throughout the season it would take us to 51 points-might just be enough! But lets face it, this wont happen. It will more likely be 1 win in 4. 1-4 will take us to about 36 points.
Really, we are doomed.
Will I blame Redfern?
Yes: he is charged with keeping us up and he had enough time and took the job on that basis. To say anything less is simply not common sense.
No: we have a woeful team and Redders cant take full responsibility for this.
But...I think , Evans was and would have done a little better.
I will still give Redfern the benefit as some of the games have looked promising with real shape and strength.
time will tell.
I just hope we dont settle for defeat this season and I truly hope the manager and board and fans demand success...
My last vestige of hope hangs on which players he brings in come January. When Redfearn came I was reasonably happy and while I did not expect miracles I did expect better. Very disappointed to say the least.
It's not over yet by a long way. In fact the fat lady hasn't even poured it in the glass yet to start gargling. Don't forget we have a new forward to help jch who is back next game. Plus a center half who should be back next game. Add to that the Jan transfer window. Fingers crossed we could be out of the bottom three by January. If not I'll join you in the end of the world thread.
why will the board waste more money on the team? Redfearn has done nothing to deserve their money in 11 games, the players he has brought in don't play and the ones that look worth a punt he doesnt play (Barker) it is like we advertised for the countrys best village idiot and then gave him a job, I am very shocked at how bad a job he is doing and what we pay black a wage for is beyond me

That cannot be the story we tell each other ex.
Redder s has not done anything yet to justify his position. No manager or employee in any walk of life gets by on the excuse of ' the mess I inherited ' especially when it's actually worse 2 months later.
I'm not sure there was a true indication this season would be that much harder given the last few performances before Redder.
I don't entirely disagree with your refrain about rebuilding but it could also be absolute poppy****
what you cite; blind faith that cannot hide the facts and numbers could actually be true of Redfearn and not Previous under Evans. The damage cpuld equally be said to taking place now.
Also, it does change things. Is it 11 matches in charge? Points is what it's all about.
A few more points than he has ac***ulated would change

I'm not going to defend Redfearn neither sing his praises, the 1 up front, D Ward love in, persistence with Collins (who should have gone the usual play 1 game then out Evans route) is totally bizarre, where is Tom Thorpe? He was a flagship signing? On the other hand, the money has gone, the only way to stay up is overspend BIG in January on players who other teams are also desperate to sign, everyone knows the Jan window prices and wages are inflated. I don't think the board are prepared to beg and borrow hoping to recoup in future seasons on a false promise we'll stay up, the signs are prudence and that means L1 and a cull over the next 2yrs. It would mean probably 5yrs before we can even start to demand getting back in this league- that's a real travesty from one man being allowed to rule the roost, and judgement trusted implicitly. I hope the board have learned from their short termism as they ultimately allowed it to happen
Add Warne & Dibble to the list of wage pinchers too!!!
Dibble I can understand to an extent, but why Warne? Please explain? He and him alone made our team and squad over the last 3 seasons the fittest squad I have ever seen, that's a fact. I also know for a fact that he did this with almost zero support from Evans or Raynor.
Warne in my opinion is an asset for this football club.
