Sign Grant Ward till the end of the season !!!! I realise we will not be able to buy but lets beat off Fatty n Glove Puppet up the M1 to one of the best young players in the division at the moment

I'd say a left back is top priority, again yesterday, and all season long teams have found it easy to get down our left side. Mattock is best of a bad bunch and is never fit enough so a new perm signing for me there is my opinion. plus another perm striker. rest depends on which loan players we can keep, I think 3 or 4 perms max. Thinking has to be that we build most on perm players and hope we can stay up but we also need a core team good enough to challenge in league 1 if we don't.

Ward will stay till end of season if he wants to I would have thought. If he is playing each week and improving he'd be mad not too.

Agree, left back needs sorting.

we just got this new lad in for central midfield and he sounds like a cross between smallwood and frecks, so, some tasty competition there perhaps.

Best and JCH with Derbyshire seems decent for the rest of this year.

D.Ward could do with some competition.

Seems clear Andreu is not going to make the grade here

Another keeper is a priority too but they are hard to come by. Might have to make do with Collin as back up for rest of season.

whos Redders brought ?

Kelly-Right back and central defender (season)
simon Lenighan- smallwood type (season)
Hyam-tanacious midfielder (January)
Best-Target man (season)

Barker-midfiled (play-maker)

who we got?

Ward-attacking midfielder (January)
Andreu-play maker (January)
Rawson-centre back (January)
Toffolo-left back (January)

Who looks surplus?

Maguire (striker)
Ledesma (midfield play maker)
Halford (God knows)

whos in but not featuring?

Thorpe (defensive type midfielder or cultured centre back)
Green ( box to box midfielder)
Richardson (Right back)

priority must be midfield. we are still one short of quality and those in can still be improved on. With ledesma, maguire , Andreu, Green and Thorpe looking set to miss out for the rest of the season, id say we need to strengthen here in January.

Second priority would be a poacher to put pressure on Derbyshire.

Third for me would be make sure the left back is taken care of as either Mattcok gets injured or Toffolo has to go back. Either way we could do with another to strengthen and put pressure on that posisiton. Whats Lafferty up to? He was, unbelievably, (id say) at Oldham.

Is Rawson staying? Then hes ok for now.

Basically; we need a left back, a quality addition in Midfield to run the show and a play maker to deliver quality; A New keeper to challenge Camp; A poacher to better Derbyshire.

Goalkeeping wise I think Collin will do till the end of the season.

I agree that left-back is a worry. Is Lafferty still at Burnley? Cant recall him playing much this season.

As for midfield, I think we need a quality wide player. G.Ward whilst playing excellently isn't a winger and drifts inside which during the first half against Bristol put loads of pressure on Buxton who at times struggles to keep pace.

If I was Redders, LB and RM/LM would be key areas.

I would also try my hardest to off-load any player out on loan making them permanent, freeing up some finance for late January / summer.

I actually thought it was a deliberate strategy to concede the wings and defend narrow in the box. Strange but worked.

Redfern has done that and it worked well against Reading but not so well other times.

I think he conceded he got it wrong in the first half of the half and I think it was a mistake to play Collins.

Other than that 2 very promising performances.

On both occasions we looked like a team
