It's no coincidence that the return of a fit Lee Frecklington has seen the team play with commitment and passion. There were some outstanding performances today from Danny Ward (for effort and persistence), JCH whose first was his signature cracker and his second was the best penalty ever, Grant Ward who has somehow developed immense strength in a matter of weeks and Frecklington whose work rate, positional nous, leadership and finishing ability spurred the team on to the type of dogged performance that has been their hallmark when playing well in the past.
A brilliant result against a form team who have only lost 1 in 9. There are good signs that the players are reacting positively to Redfearn's management style and we might soon be talking confidently about our chances of remaining in the Championship. Well done to the lot of them.
Finally, how many errors did the officials make today - some decisions defied belief!
Indeed, he has lost his way at this level at times , in part due to inconsistencies around him but also sometimes he over commits , which also gets him into those trade mark positions in the box.
He has been truly great for us and an absolute steel off posh , just like Newall too.
He drives forward , that's all he knows. He makes things happen one way or another.
