I'm not sure that I can bear ....

going up to Elland Road on Saturday to witness Steve Evans celebrating in front of the Leeds fans after his side have just torn us a new one.  While I hope we win the odds are very much against it and I am afraid defeat is all but a foregone conclusion.  For the first time in many years I simply can't face going to the game to support my team.  My usual pre-match optimism has been ripped away by the last six games.  Anyone else feeling as low as this about the Millers at the moment?

I can understand your feelings S8 and feel a bit like that myself. I am quite apprehensive about the game because Evans has obviously got them playing for him now whereas Redfearn.......well.
I haven't made my mind up whether to go or not yet but part of me thinks it would be lovely to see Evans slinking off down the tunnel after we got a last minute winner.
And then I woke up!

I have vowed never to go to Elland Road ever again. The last twice I have been I have been physically threatened - once as a neutral in hospitality when I made the mistake of applauding a wonder goal scored by Anders Limpar for Arsenal (I think it might have been voted goal of the season) and once outside the ground just for having the wrong scarf on. I do get your dilemma though. If I could use a crystal ball and see a Millers win I might just have a rethink this once. But if we lost I couldn't bear to see Evans celebrating.

I started off the week thinking something similar.

Now, I am just happy to support my team and I feel ok about it either way as now we dont have anything obscuring our passion.

Its just Rotherham United now.

See what players Redfearn brings in if any. Not going to away games knowing you've got no chance. If he brings in Hunt in when we've got Newell & Kelly in when we've already got two 30+ right backs won't be going.

Leeds really aren't that good, they're struggling to hit a barn door this season overall, unfortunately we are worse at the minute. I hate the place even if we have a confident performing team never mind the bunch we have now. You can only see us losing, but if we win it could be a real turning point. I echo seeing Evans touchline antics, profiting from someone else' team and fist pumping is not something I want to see, there's plenty more games to go to.

I understand that totally, S8, myself? i'm not going through principle, i'm not prepared to pay that kind of money to watch my team play, i won't be going to pigsville either for the same reason. Rip off Britain....

The price would deter me, but if you go sing loud sing proud regardless.

I've been wavering on this one for some time. Especially difficult for me as i live nearer to Elland road than NYS.

Two things putting me off - the price and the fact i think the atmosphere will be poisonous. I have no fear of seeing my team beaten, I've been watching them do that all over the country for many years, but I don't fancy 90 minutes of sitting next to people who've gone there to hurl abuse at the second most succesful manager in my lifetime, rather than to get behind their team, which I fear may be the case.

That said, i was leaning towards still going as it usually comes down to this : "what if we win our first game in ages and I miss it ?"

However, a friend pointed out to me yesterday that Leeds fans can buy tickets in 3 sides of the ground for £25 or £27. I've just been on their ticket site to confirm this. Only the main stand* costs £35 which is why they put us in there and it gets round the FL rule that they can't charge us more than their most expensive ticket.  On this basis I will be listening on Millers Player insead.

*Not even sure why I referred to it as a main stand, it was probably good in its day (ie the 1960s) but the tiny concourse for away fans and cramped seating means it is probably the worst away facilities in the Championship.

As one of my favourite film quotes go : (Extra point for the title)

Define irony...........A bunch of Rotherham fans moaning and groaning about the players lack of commitment and effort then, not  being bothered themselves to turn up and support the team on a match day because it's an extra tenner!

You'll save that much on petrol compared to Birmingham, Middlesbrough or Brentford.

Or, do what I'm doing, leave the Wife behind and go on my own, already quids in biggrin

Come on, get your chins off the floor and support the lads!

And i paid £35 for England on Tuesday night, sat in the best stadium in the UK, no brainer really, Leeds or England mmmmmmmm

Sad as it is Leeds being in the championship, NOT !!! you reap what you sow.

But get ready for Wednesday prices later in the season. £52 is what i've heard - is this right?

"Hey man, your bleeding".

"I ain't got time to bleed".

"Oh yea, you got time to duck?"

Fantastic. Just fantastic. Can't comment on the performance because I didn't go (listened on Radio but no substitute) but for once who cares. Fantastic!
