Cold light of day

Been watching the millers since 1963 got used to disappoint in that time , had some fanastic memories and alot of nightmares but yesterday's performance was down with the worst ive seen. I thought NR would be good appointment but shows how much I know , don't like to see managers lose their jobs but the club comes first , if he was to go where would TS turn next other than SE we've not got a good record of good managers recently . Who is advising TS on football matters because they have not done a good job lately , is it time to look at a director of football ? and take it out of the hands of fans and get someone in who knows the game . When you think about the heartache of leaving Millmoor and being in the wilderness for five years then coming home full of hope and anticipation for it to last only a short while will be so difficult to take . But in the cold light of day I can only see us going back to the old disappointing days of old . After all these years you would think you would be able to stop caring but as they say its in the blood. Off to church now to see if he can help but think even he's a Wednesday fan . How depressed can I be this morning .

Some good points there, Len.  People demanding the sacking of NR should ask who appointed him and why they would do better next time.

But surely it's not rocket science? Employ someone who has a track record of success. Yes, every manager fails at some point in his career so it could still be a bad appointment, but to employ a 50 odd year old bloke who has only ever been a youth coach is a massive gamble.

My point entirely.  TS appointed Redfearn over 60 other candidates.

Perhaps every other candidate wanted to bring in their own back room staff whereas Crappers was prepared to keep the existing. Cheap option?

Got to be honest, calling people cheap names doesn't help anyone, at any point.

Great post Len, full of feeling and thought.

I tend to agree with all the points on here because sadly they are all valid.

TS has a poor record appointing managers. He is attracted to slightly poor candidates. He does not seem to trust people with a solid resume.

We are too small for the championship but we won't get any bigger by going down.

There were 60+ candidates so sacking Redders wouldn't be a disaster. Nothing has changed yet team wise.

It's now or never .
