Strange to say while I remember well the other comic characters who have appeared as avatars I have NO recollection of Archie although he definitely appeared in comics I bought and read. It did strike me that perhaps Stan Lee at Marvel Comics had Archie in mind when he drew Iron Man in 1963: what do you think?
Actually Rk, while I remember reading his adventures, I'm not too sure which comic he was in, The Victor springs to mind, but it could have been The Lion maybe, either way he was the scourge of bad men and evil empires with a self propelling almost limitless power source. Bullets would bounce off his body of steel, falling boulders may bury him but he would scramble out unscathed. The incredible heat of volcanic lava could do no more than blister his paintwork. He never spoke but communicated to the reader through a thought bubble and he was definitely English in his respect for fair play, daring do, and compassion for the underdog, while giving no quarter to his enemies........In short he was like Tommy Spencer except he was scottish.
