TS and the 'next level'

I've read between the lines, he kept coining the phrase. Lets assume he wasn't happy with how the budget was being used (who would). I think it goes further, TS is no mug. He knows he gave the tools he thought more than adequate to survive in this league, while a better calibre of players were brought in, the performances never mind results became unacceptable. And his last managers only way to address it?, more players. Same issues but its the players. And its here where the next level implies. He knows his last managers short comings, and saw the unsustainability in his methods. The straw that broke the back was the Norwich loans (and perhaps more were wanted). TS says hang on a minute, you've just gone and brought in 15 players, not 2 months ago. Now you're saying they're not good enough and we can only survive on loans? That's it pal, different direction it is.

Redders first job should be to address the effectiveness and successfulness of his scouting network. And maybe, just maybe we'll finally see Rawson and Thorpe at the back. Football these days is for the athlete not the 34yr olds.

I'd love to see Rawson and Thorpe given a fair crack, as young lads they were sure to make mistakes but sidelining them wouldn't have helped their development one iota. Redders has already said he will give help to those who are keen. What a refreshing stance, not only would it be good and possibly profitable for the club, it will help young players to develop their full potential, which of course will benefit English football in general since the game is flooded with foreign players which currently stifles home grown talent..

SE took us as far as he could, Redders has a broader understanding of the game and is well respected and is bound to have a much wider network of contacts in the game. I'm very optimistic

Very good point ex. The most convincing explanation I've read.

It does serve to highlight the unsustainable nature of the approach. Even man City would struggle if they adopted wholesale changes each season

I guess it has come time to have faith in the players we can afford and invest in the development of a team that might have more than a season or two together.

Looking back I'd love to know if morgan, Arnie and pringle went with Tony's blessings due to wage demands.

I have it on good authority that no matter how much money was offered to agard morgan and pringle they would not play for the last manager and his comedy side kick and that goes for other loan players Can some one tell me how much evans mistake in getting roos from derby and sending him back is costing us. I heard we still paying his wages. If true then it should have been deducted from his pay off

All good points.  Not blowing my own trumpet (well, perhaps) but I was crucified on another site a year ago for saying that Evans seemed to be flying against received football wisdom whereby all great managers stressed the need for continuity and incremental as opposed to wholesale change.
