Deep down the news has thrilled me. Not really sure why? Maybe it's a bit of excitement to punctuate the dreariness?
However, I am looking forward to seeing a well organised defence, thoughtful tactics, intelligent passages of play etc.
Also looking forward to seeing a studious coach on the sidelines who quietly and methodically makes notes, and never rants or rages or lets his trolleys fall down. Maybe a manager who gives us interviews with quotes by Heidegger?
Maybe a non working class manager?

I too have felt the poignancy. It's a complex feeling which is why the french have a word for it.
Maybe we all deep down long for some respite from steves world. Whether it's because he has worn us out or just that three and a half years is enough for anyone who knows.
Maybe I have held unconscious desire for change-its in the DNA od all of us.
I find myself imaging a season of calm football played under warm winter nights despite the cold weather. And a lazy finish in 16th place.
I reckon working with Evans must have been like living with an alcoholic: riotous, unpredictable, funny, heartbreaking, infuriating but in the end the mayhem just becomes tedious.
Some great memories but it's time for a new face.
