Stumbled across this. Apparently the actor has stirred controversy by erecting a tomb for himself in New Orleans.
The blogosphere is apparently buzzing with rival theories as to the significance of the pyramid shape and motto which is apparently a Rosicrucian saying meaning "Everything from one." Any theories? And has anyone on here booked their own tomb yet?
personally, I think hes done it because hes become so boring and middle aged.
Has anyone seen the movie left behind...it really is the worst movie I have ever seen and for cage to agree to be in it has pretty much shafted his reputation as any kind of avant garde or serious actor.
I have no particular Faith and the idea doesn't appeal to me, but I think as a structure it looks pretty good. I have not seen the story but at first blush I can't see why it would be controversial. The idea that people with a few bob might choose to have a tomb or a mausoleum is nothing new. His choice. I worry a bit more for the rich folk who plump for cryogenics as an option - at least Cage seems to have a perspective on his mortality. I wouldn't dismiss him as an actor myself either - lots of good actors have made lots of terrible films. I haven't seen Left Behind myself, but I have seen a couple of his films that I thought were pretty good.
