A promised a good for a better performance post with a caveat

Well done steve you played you players in the right position with right formation and got the result My caveat is this why didnt just shoot when cardiff parked the bus it could have Another thing steve those numpties who mentioned in your post match interview there by spoiling yourself these are the same fans who pay your wages. And we have had a right to crticise what we percieve to be bad decisions by you. You have to take the flack as well as laurels in football. I finish on one swallow does not make a summer . So steve you have found a working team your only tinkering will be frecks and broadfoot and maybe maguire for derbyshire

I take your point HM, but do 'fans' have carte blanche to say what they want? I thnk we've all heard these numpties saying all sorts of rubbish, calling players all sorts as well. It's a two way street if you ask me, i think SE is right to call them out.

Extract:
'We passed it more than we've done all season - the team was set up in that direction, we're getting people fitter - so the numpties out there, the few of them that moan and groan, when they realise it takes a little bit of time when we bring players together to get a style or a pattern and get people fit and sharp and ready to play....'

Make your own mind up who he's referring to.

From my perspective it just took a bit of the shine off the afternoon. I think he missed an opportunity to put a real positive spin on the performance and claim that we now have the ingredients in place to start climbing the table. There was no need to refer to anyone's mistakes/misunderstandings - his own or his critics. Ce la vie.

It's history now - onwards and upwards.

I agree with Steve im afraid. Im not calling any of you numpties, but it does "time when we bring players together to get a style or a pattern and get people fit and sharp and ready to play" - thats a fact.

Agree Glenn, draw the line, onwards and upwards.

Indeed it does take time. That time is called a "pre-season". Surely you'd be, I dunno, a numpty to devise a plan that involves effectively writing off the first 7 games of the season because you're not able to get that set of players fit or drilled on what you want them to in time for the actual start of the season??? In any case, bolt shot too early. "Ha! I am vindicated because we have won a game. I said the season started with the first home game after the international break, so we have a 100% record and I win and you lose." Best not ****** up against Brum, because them as just been labelled numpties will be more vicious. It's no good pushing this line that you can either slavishly and unquestioningly applaud everything or demand his head. Most of us, surely, see that he and the team have strengths and weaknesses, hope that the one can outweigh the latter, feel sad and frustrated when we lose and feel great when we win. And it's OK to have opinions.

It seems to me that followers of RUFC no longer have any right to offer any opinion that's likely to upset the apple cart as it were!

It seems quite clear to me that the "numpties" he's referring to are the ones on message boards who've dared to criticize his tactics/team selection/poor signings/antics on the touchline/abuse of officials etc. etc. etc.

I've criticized him myself on a few occasions so I suppose that I'm one of the "numpties".

I'll be having a few strict words with myself later.  .... wubble    confuse

for all those evanettes who call us numpties lets look at a few facts

i may be wrong but thats what i thought preseason was for, getting the players fit and working on different formations and a plan B but you cant predict injuries to the both full backs. but he cant blame that as he had quality over quantity
so we had richardson as our spare right back im still at a loss why he let brindley go that kid had potential and we had white as left back cover

we the numpties aka fans who see through your smoke and mirrors routine and dont believe anything you say anymore
have based our criticism based on what we have seen.

1) GOALKEEPER It seems he was in such a rush to have anyone in goal except for collin that he went for roos that he missed out on martinez
2) HALFORD captain decided 1hr before kick off and said it all that evans doesnt have a plan B

3) bad Formation

4) bad player choice and postioning

all the above have also been commented on by professionals and the media who may alo know a bit about football

evans we fans are fickle we want our team to be fighting for every point we arnt barcelona or chelsea we dont expect to win every game but we expect to play like we are winners..

and if any one needs a lesson on been fickle its you

i cite the treatment of collin you was gushing over him at wembley now its anyone but him in goal

so come end of season whether we are championship or league 1 you will probably be needing another goalie

Scottish usage:
a) Someone who (sometimes unwittingly) by speech or action demonstrates a lack of knowledge or misconception of a particular subject or situation to the amusement of others.

b) A good humoured admonition, a term of endearment

c) A reckless, absent minded or unwise person

it doesn't make anyone reckless or unwise just because they comment on what they see. It doesn't make them unwise because they disagree with SE and his poor tactics and team selection for much of this season .

SE needs to accept if you get it wrong as much as he has this season , you are in the public eye, and people will always comment. That's life - get over it!

I'm not so sure that Evan's has either the time or desire to trawl through our message board posts, I think his comments are directed at the match day bores who carp and criticise from the stands.  I think it is acceptable to have an opinion and a reasoned argument on a message bpard.  I don't think it is acceptable to continually shout obscenities at the coaching staff and players from the sidelines.

Agree absolutely S8 and I hope you're correct. Perhaps we're all suffering from Messageboard Numpty Paranoia?
