At the age of 84, it has been announced.  A Yorkshire CCC legend and by all accounts such a hard man that a batsman once hit the ball firmly into his head as he fielded close to the bat and his only reaction was to shout 'catch it' as it looped into the air.  He apparently commanded total respect from some giants of the game and people (like Trueman, Boycott etc) who didn't suffer fools.
