Just starting to take some note of this. I couldn't believe the fixture list. Talk about Groups of Death. England's Group A is far and away the hardest. New Zealand could send an under 15 side and still get through Group C. England will probably have to beat at least one of Wales or Australia to progess.

However, whoever emerges from group A will be battle hardened. NZ will have hardly broken a sweat and could therefore be venerable.
Haha, i like that thought, though i cannot see for the life of me England winning this, regardless of home advantage, precisely because of the groupings, Rugby these days is a mega contact sport and the two teams that qualify from our group will be damaged physically and mentally. There's only so many massive games you can handle, and i think this plays straight into the All blacks hands.
Its funny. Exeter is a host city. Yet only around 5-10 thousand people from our population actually give a f***. That's the same as a Rotherham game but in the 'World Cup', shall I say it again... 😃
Looking forward to this immensely. With it being in the northern hemisphere there are maybe seven teams with a realistic chance. NZ, Aus, SA, Eng, France, Ireland and Wales at a push. Once it gets to QF stage there will be some rip roaring matches. Come on England!
Why do the Welsh get to play at home? surely that's unfair on the other team?
Yes it is. A special dispensation was given due to Millenium Stadium's "facilities and strategic location." Hard to understand then why Murrayfield was excluded?
I've changed my avatar in celebration of Japan's anticipated humbling of the Jocks.
Ha, nice one RK, though i think the Japanese will be physically and emotionally drained after saturday to be honest, Scotland to win this by 10points+
Millmoor, hat off to you. Bang on. Men against boys. That crazy attempt at an over the top try summed it up. Weird scheduling that Japan play a second game four days after the first when some teams haven't played their first. Having said that I prefer the way the japanese tried to play the game rather than the dour, defensive, let's win on penalties, Scots' version.
Great competition so far. On the whole the 'minnows' are performing well which helps greatly. Big upsets are rare in RU so the Japan win against SA really was extraordinary. My tip would be for the USA to run Scotland really close on Sunday and maybe even edge it.

I hope so. You make a very good point about the problems for underdogs in RU.
There is not much to choose between Scotland and Samoa (I think Samoa beat Scotland last time they met) and the USA ran Samoa fairly close in their first group game. The USA are a big, physical team and they are improving. Scotland have their off days. I see today that Scotland have made a few changes to their line-up. The bookies near me predict a 22 point margin. Because upsets are rare you can get decent odds in RU matches. I have got on USA at 14 to 1 the win. Not saying they will win, but I like the odds. UUUU SSSSS AAAAA!
Smiler, listened to Gareth Chilcott on Radio this morning. He reckoned Lancaster had lost his nerve, thrown out his game plan developed over last 18 months and picked a defensive line up that will hand the initiative to Wales. GC said he had fancied a good England win but now a very tight game could go either way. I don't know enough about RU to judge this view.
