Which of our players will be spinning their way out of the revolving door on loan in a weeks time? Surely some will. It happens at this time evey year. Here are my candidates. Richard Wood - never going to get a game with us for some reason. Danny Ward - not match fit and unlikely to get a game in front of the Norwich lads. Jordan Bowery - won't ever be either the battering ram or the wimger that Evo seems to want him to be and seems to be out of favour. Yates - ready for games and won't get them with us. ThIs is what I think Evo might do, not necessarily what I think he should do by the way. Personally I like Richard Wood and also Bowery if we use him properly.
Agree on Bowery, think we have seen the last of him to be honest. Was given the chance and failed to take it. I hope Wood gets another chance because Halford needs to buck up or be shipped out.
I think you might be right S8 we may have seen the last of him. I think that would be a shame myself. He has something about him. He has played variously as a wide man or a traditional target man for us and he gets dogs abuse because he 'never wins a header'. Neither do Suarez or Aguerro but they don't always play next to big strikers. Would they get a game for us? I'm obviously not saying he is as good as that. What I am saying is that despite his height he is a mobile, pacy player with good feet who needs the ball in front of him, not with his back to goal. I would play him or JCH up top (other to sub because its hard work) and ask them to stretch the play, with a ball player (Maguire or new loanee Andreu) in behind. If we are not going to play to his strengths he might as well leave.
Wood must have done something horribly wrong to Evans. If I was Wood, I'd take it as a personal insult if I couldn't displace Collins & Captain Calamity Halford, He'll do a fine job somewhere else. As I've said before, Yates will end up at somewhere like Boston/Gainsborough etc. I agree with smiler about Bowery, he aint no target man so possibly he needs to go to a football rather than a hoofball club.
Bowey never seen gets to play in his best position/roll. He likes the ball to run on to not behind him at his head or as a winger. He will never be rated until he gets the correct supply. Then we will say why did we let him go when he eventually gets the supply in another team.
We all like something about Bowery and thats why he gets the moves he does, but lets be honest, he never delivers in a manner that makes him part of the 11.
Villa fans were over the moon they got some cash for him and before that he had a short spell at L1 where he was seen as a possible cheap investment for the big time.
I like him, I see his merits but I have given up on him as a player that can make it in an 11 at this level.
