People who want rid of Evans

Need to get in the real world and realise that changing managers will have zero effect. It all comes down to money.

You often here the phrase 'Evans is a good lower league manager and he is out of his depth in the Championship'. Well what about Malky McKay and Wigan. A proven championship manager who gained promotion to the Premiership. Wigan were struggling so sacked him with the result being ...... Relegation.

Sheff Utd have tried countless managers in their quest to get out of league 1. None of them were given sufficient time and they are still in league 1.

Changing managers doesn't work. We have got a very successful manager who is a proven winner. Sack him and we will end up with a journeyman manager who has failed numerous times before. Evans hasn't failed once in his managerial career.

don't disagree don't want him to go, just want him to behave and not keep making the same mistakes, however can I point out that watford got promoted from this league by changing their managers multiple times last season, birmingham went from bottom to midtable by doing the same

Chelski! Always done well whoever managers them.

On the other hand there's is Liverpool , who apart from a rather fortuitous champions league win have done ****** all despite lots of managers.

Arsenal and wenger-no progress!

Bolton have got worse and worse despite lots of apparently very good managers.

Should have gone for Mark Warburton, now he'll make Rangers great again, missed an opportunity there.

I've got no issue with Evans. My issue right now is same old same old but with technically better players. These players are being walked through step by step of each game, woe be tied if you step outta line or sway from the script. This has to stop, let them play, give them freedom. Shouting and bawling is counter productive, he will have been taught all this on the UEFA badge. He will also have learned the intricate mechanics of technical coaching, but still insists on hoofing it with the hope of not winning said balls, but getting the 2nd ball. This is employed successfully to a degree at L1 even more so L2 and down. In this league, if 'lessons had been learned', they would know all other teams have the resources & know how to deal with this naïve, percentage football, they also have the resources to change in game and do so effectively. The thing is, so do we but its not being tried / used for egotistical, it worked for us last season purposes. Let me tell you one thing. Last season was no way our own achievement, it was purely the 3 that went down were in absolute turmoil. Other clubs were too, Cardiff, Brum, Brighton etc but changed enough to get out of it. We all knew this season we would not have that insurance policy, worse the teams coming up have resources in their own right to stay up and those that swapped from the PL mean more clubs benefitting from parachute payments. All clubs have gained from increase TV revenue so we can discount that, we had to buy well this summer and on paper I believe we all think we have to give us a chance - its management refusal to change that is stopping any progress from that in my opinion. I want them to change, I want them to learn from the likes of Howe, Warburton and Neil because if they don't they'll drag us down and I'd rather they left than that to happen, I don't think we'd recover from it, and we absolutely need to stay in this league if we're going to develop, get 20k on New York etc

comments from derby miller posted on millers mad with my comments

1. Steve Evans has been a good manager for us and deserves his chance in the championship, I do not want him gone at this time. agree but he is not learning his mistakes
2. I think TS and the board are doing a wonderful job yes agree
3. I think we have some good players we do but used wrong tactically
4. I never boo my team never i always boo evans

This board is for fans to share their views and opinions on the club we all love

I am frustrated because of a few things I see

1. Evans and Raynors match behaviour ''yep totally agree this has to be costing us some decisions'
2. The way players are quickly dropped and kicked out of the club and seemingly not managed ' this one of my biggest bug bears the way he gets a player i been watching him etc etc then off he goes connor newton etc etc '
3. The constant excuses in interviews and the lack of acceptance of his own errors ' wont happen he needs a football director who can see through the smog'
4. Having favourites and not backing down when they are clearly not working. Current example Halford '' agree on halford on performance so far he is not a centre back
5. Transfer policy, says quality carries out quantity ' his past record of rebuilding has to stop and we will only get a star player with a fee
6. Not remembering what he says in previous interviews and contradicting himself later E.g. I got all the players I wanted, this week it is clear we need more players '' agree he just spouts stuff like a 2nd hand car salesman''
7. The club going from openly saying we would spend £1m on a player to not spending anything only going for cast offs ' this is down to evans
8. Hoofball agree this totally has to change and this is not the players this is instruction from the bench

' 4 5 1 = 4 2 3 1 = losing possession off the ball and we under cosh again

we have the players for a 3 4 1 2 attacking going to 5 3 2 defending it just needs proper coaches with proper technique not unfortunately this isn't raynor

collins in goal is a must roos is not up to it at this time the only team gaining from this is derby

with a mixture of rawson thorpe and collins or woods capable of been a decent back three
midfield
holding midfielder has to be smallwood or halford who is NOT a CB
with buxton and mattock and white we have full back who could play as a wing backs
newell / frecks in the middle
with maguire or g ward or frecks playing behind the front two doing penetrating runs creating space for the strikers to run splitting the defence

instead of 4 5 1 with the cb on derbyshire the all time

Re: Players not being given a chance and players he sticks to too long.

Doest this highlight the difficulty of a football manager?

They can be criticised for playing a player for too long and for not giving a player enough time.

I cant think of any examples where he has stopped playing someone that has not proven to be right given where they have ended up and how they have performed. Can you?

He certainly played shearer for too long and Halford is getting into that bracket but its only been 4 games. Its reasonable to give a player a few games if there is reason, and with Halford there is because he has pedigree .

Overall, and Its an undeniable fact, the current set up (black excluded) have produced winning teams and some stunning performances. They have also produced shot performances. However, it still remains true that a Evans evloves his team in the season, and that is a cause for concern to the extent that he is playing catch up. Maybe its a shortcoming and he should be able to put the team together more quickly and with more stability-I agree.

I cant ignore his resources however and the fact we stick within budget.

Im going to take some convincing that Referees punish Rotherham united because they have a loud and aggressive manager.
