MILLERS BANTER PREDICTION LEAGUE FIXTURES ( NO 5)

Permalink

Greetings pundits and soothsayers all.

Is the league shaping up already. Strange that the cream rises so early. I wonder if physics supports such an observation. I looked at the Prem table other day and I must say that there are clearly several teams that wont finish anywhere near their current positions.

Exeter, well, he just doesnt have much previous form to go on but he certainly did nothing wrong on the few outing he got last season. Andy, has already shown his genius but also his pained destructive side-what does he need to do to relinquish the artist and become the civil servant-perhaps he is happy being as he is.

Towd lad is showing some real improvement and looks like his pre-season training will pay off.

S8-a bookies favourite this week showed glimpses of his astute and steady selection process paying off.

GHF and others continue to labour for that break through also with some mixed fortunes. Spare a thought for Worcester, who, although wrote off by many before a key was pressed has some real fight in him and may yet prove the doubters wrong.

And look out for PIDG-2 games in and he looks like a real talent.

This week also has a bonus.

Did you know?

-Both the assistant and the fourth official record time spent on the field by the physio/doctor. The watch is not stopped as many presume but the time is passed to the ref.

-30 seconds for each substitution and red card, and if a yellow card is issued 30 seconds also added unless its a flash and get on with it.

-30 seconds is also added for celebrations of each goal.

-The longest stoppage time I could find was 12 minutes and 58 seconds in the game played between Arsenal and West ham.

-one other notable stoppage time was played out between Bristol city and

Brentford http://www.theguardian.com/football/2006/nov/29/theknowledge.sport

So, you may have guessed. The bonus feature this week is; what will be the longest stoppage time added to a championship game this week? I will take the time from the BBC website, which calculates in minutes only. The amount of bonus will correspond to the minutes added.

Good luck.

WOW , 11 say win for the millers in varying styles but 2-1 is a common scoreline, Exeter sat on the fence, and only one predicting a loss.

Exeter will you be top come Saturday evening , i know i wont be LOL.

Sorry to be the odd man out Worcester but Fulham have got a decent record against us and although Fulham aren't playing very well at the moment, neither are we, so that's what swayed my decision. I hope I'm wrong but somehow I can't see our first league win coming just yet. We will see.   biggrin

I wouldn't say sat on the fence, goals are a struggle for both, which is more a deal for them forking out so much on McCormack which must be one of the worst wastes of money in recent memory. I don't think Fulham despite Halford and Collins being so inept, have enough to get 2 or more against us. But likewise we neither have the tactical know how, the 'right formula', or worse self belief to score 2 or more. Hope I'm wrong mind.

Some good scores this week lads n lasses, but, some weak showings too.

Lots got the Hull result bang on again confirming what we saw a couple of weeks ago and, Alas, only a couple of punters picked up any points on the Millers.

Worcester has a stormer, which belies his poor start and suggests he may have now found a formula that suits him.

The pack leaders put in a steady performance but GHF has a shocking fall and to add more pain he is beaten by TLA.

MMM at last shows some of that pre-season promise But Tony Kidding had a hard game, which many predicted as he seemed to be carrying a knock in warm up.

PIDG keeps the pressure on and is slowly clawing away at the deficit his late start had on him due to some over indulgence pre-season.

WORCESTER=58

MMM=57

IAN=52

PIDG=49

UNI=43

EXETER=42

O.A.D.=40

SICKLY=39

S8=33

TLA=33

TONY=32

ANDY=31

GHF=26

T/C=24

No one will get the bonus as Brentfor v Reading recorded 10 extra minutes of time added on.

Table will be updated tonight and Reading v Ipswich will be added on 11th September.

Keep your spirits up its still too early to change that manager.
