Normally I would say that this is a preposterous idea. But giving the matter more thought, I came to the conclusion that it might be possible under certain cir***stances. For example: a man, any man (it needn't necessarily be Ridgeway Kid) could stand in one spot and spin himself around at death defying speed, all the while screaming out every topic that came into his head at any one time.
The purpose of this activity would be simply to draw attention to himself. Any response he might get from bystanders would be quite immaterial. The point has been made and he IS the point.
To take Ridgeway Kid at random. On page 1 the Kid starts 11 new topics. On page 2 he adds a further 19. 30 topics in such a short space of time is either impressive or insane. I favour the latter.
For myself I haven't posted a single word for approximately 4 months on MM. My intention was never to post ever again. The site had become moribund, no need to go into all the details here. I then took a first real look at Banter and was quietly impressed. The members seemed very friendly and welcoming, the posts were of a considerably higher standard than on MM, literacy was clearly valued, in fact everything boded well for a fresh start.
Then today I see one new member torn to shreds for his opening post and myself vilified for former opinions made years ago on MM. So, all in all NOT the fresh start I'd hoped for. Time, I think, for me to melt away.
It's classic this, isn't it, two suicide notes in a short period of time. Just when kempo finds a new home, long term posters jump overboard. Not that I'm suggesting that the two are connected, far from it. Playground mentality, which I find extremely sad. Still, if you can't stand the heat, either join a new message board or give it up altogether. I'm not going to be the one to wring my hands together and plead with people to stay.
A lot of baggage from previous histories here. Kempo has behaved himself since posting and poeple should ease up on what may or may not have happened in the past. Remember it's called Banter, people should perhaps be a little less sensitive.
The way i see it is this, if you have an agenda other than posting your thoughts about RUFC, and not taking cheap pot shots at any other poster, then don't bother posting. It's quite childish in my view, grow up would be my advice.
People are moving over in numbers as most of us have wanted but the dynamics are now changing as of course they would by definition?
I am pleased that I am behaving myself and hopefully will continue to do so although I may need the wounds in my lip attending to.
To support zilzal which I usually do because I admire his posts..let me mention ridgeway for the last time.
He denies being wendun which is a lie as Kevin and I know.......
He starts up a shower of threads seemingly in a friendly manner and collects a few admirers with his historical chat and so on.
So far so good.
New posters arrive and suddenly his leopardic spots return and he lambasts myself IBS and zilzal for no reason other than to stir up the hornets nest.
He then leaves and gives the nest another poke.
Some regret his demise not realising how they have been played but like the miracle of Lazarus he will be back from the dead and he will rise up from his bed and like another miracle he will roll away the stone from his bunker entrance, fight off the effects of swine flu and he will return...trust me!

Nice to be noticed. Love the "quietly impressed" by Banter bull shine. Not what you said on MM but who cares? Welcome. or ?
I will discuss all things Rufc and in the ot discussion group I will enter any sensible argument.
What I won't do is enter any form of p###ing contest.
Let's keep the standard high. Try to think poddington. He has similar high standards, doesn't give or take abuse and has fantastic input. I don't always agree with him but I respect his opinions and etiquette.

Fair points, H. Must say I haven't heard anything of Podd in ages. A couple of times on MM he did a "That's me done on here!" routine but was eventually drawn back by numerous pleas to return. Nice to be wanted.
