Don't get it. He speaks about needing pace and width and it worked, the impact particularly JCH has, then he bring on Green! Not really the person to go for when looking for a goal! Makes absolutely no mention that in 95 minutes their keeper hasn't had 1 save to make, 'heroic' defending or not. Yet we've 'laid siege' to their goal in the final 20 minutes. We knew what Preston would be about, seemed we had nothing to overcome it personnel wise, tactics wise, management wise. The 0 ZERO in the shots on target column at a home game against a team who will finish in the bottom 6 speaks volumes.
He gad to drop Newall in left back to cover Mattock and provide space for JCH. Green came on to pad the midfield out created by his absence and I know I'm a fan but he did well and was playing in the last third rather than 2nd third when he came on.
I think it's a pretty reasonable interview, tbh. I'm pretty certain he wasn't too unhappy that it was drab for 60 minutes (I think it was the plan, it was certainly what we set ourselves up for).
I think he overstates the "siege" to their goal, and he forgets they hit the bar and forced a decent save from Roos. But I think he planned for the point and got it and was satisfied.
Interesting to contrast that with Derbyshire's reaction, though.
