Well, I'm confused by Evans' appraisal.  Sure I read yesterday that JCH was no way ready for the Championship and that several other were ahead of him.  Evans just talks without bothering to connect his brain.

If JCH turned down loan offers in the week, we must have accepted them. In the prematch interviews, Evans said that Danny Ward might well have played if fit. So, on that basis, all things being equal, JCH wouldn't have been at the club or, if he was, not on the bench last night. And, yes, he snatched at a shot, but at least until booked he'd had a real go and added a bit of dash and snarl. He's something different and even if he's only a 15 minutes here and there player he ought, imo, to be available on the bench most weeks.

David, what a pleasant surprise.  Your excellent and perceptive match reports were what got me to MM in the first place.  Never the same since you became an infrequent poster.
