A Tempest in Paradise?

Watched the new film version of The Tempest last night.  For those of you unfamiliar with the plot here's a brief resume.

Prospero (who is secretly the Duke of Exeter) is shipwrecked on HMS Banter and along with a few trusted companions is washed ashore on a desert island.

At first everything is fine but pretty soon some of the crew start hankering for more company.  "I kind of miss some of my old shipmates from the Mad Hispaniola.  Wouldn't it be nice if they could join us here on this paradise.  Not the idiots of course, just the decent ones like old Tony, Mandy and Gram."

Following another tempest the Mad Hispaniola does sink and a whole boatload of survivors arrive on the island.  They are led, however, by the dreaded former Gestapo agent Caliban Cam.  Pretty soon they start to take over.  Cliques form, dissenters are banned or told to "F*ck and support the pigs", reasonable requests for additional investment are met with "Who do you think we are, Barcelona or Real Madrid?"

The play ends with Exeter cast adrift in an open boat alone but for his cabin boy, Andy and bosun, Ian.  Such is the lesson of life.  BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.

You can lead an old leopard to water but you can't teach it new tricks!!  Or is that a mixed metaphor?
