Coaching

I think we will improve when we start coaching players to play football, not that garbage we had to watch tonight.

The stats don't lie we had no attempts on target, at home to a promoted team!!!!

Firstly goalkeepers, we had Shearer, Loach both awful and failed, we now have Roos that was ok tonight but clearly has issues, common point same goalkeeping coach, dibble has to go and get a better coach.

If Raynor and Black do the coaching, do they not teach our players how to control a ball, create space at throw ins, spread out on a pitch rather than run to the same 10 sq meters, have the back post covered when we have a corner, how to cross a ball  with pace and not looped up(cross % was 18% tonight), how not to just boot the ball long to the one guy that they say can't head a ball, how to miss out the only play making midfielder we have in newell.

What do these guys actually do? That was garbage tonight that is not championship football, it is not better quality than last year or even the year before in League 1.

How can a team with a so called great fitness coach look knackered after 80 mins, Frecks could hardly walk

As you can tell I am a little disappointed, but don't worry because someone will come on here or on the radio and say that everything I point out is wrong and I know nothing about football and our coaching is first rate, yeah right.

spot on the mark there Derby the passing was awfull , so was our forward play we never realy looked like scoring . The two subs came on and for about 20 mins things slightly improved but without a decent striker we are going to struggle for goals .

evans I'm sure will put his spin on tonights game but my eyes don't tell me lies nor does the league table .

Nobody on ere will tell you that Derby, everyone is entitled to their view and football is interpreted differently by everyone - thats why we love it

To your point, I thought this group was put together to get us goals yet we seem to be just as toothless. I fear they are not being given the freedom they need but are being shackled by Evans' do as I say or you're dropped style. Worse complain and you'll be out on loan.

Different players same problems point to one place where the buck stops and no amount of propaganda words like outstanding etc will pull the wool over the masses eyes. How have we learned yet from last year?, at this level you need players that will score from 1 chance in 2 or 3 on goal, we need twice that, and 10 if Derbyshire gets them. Mid table is deluded, self egotistical and an insult to Tony's unwavering trust.

We all knew this season would be harder, we've got more teams on parachute payments, and those that have come up in their own right have bigger infrastructures than our own to compete, one of them has just spent £9m, and they will get goals for that. There doesn‘t seem to be anyone imploding this year other than ourselves. If we go down it won't be 16 referees fault, the fault stops at the management and coaching staff, and they know the business they're in. So far we're failing, the points chart will show a projected tally more than we have, which means we have to make it up in places we don't expect, that seems a tall order, and one it seems highly unlikely we'll beat the odds on this time

SE, evolves a team each season . He's the ultimate Darwinist. He is severe.

" Nature is red in tooth and claw"

Many will come and many will be culled.

It's a simple and wasteful process but he is following the blueprint of life.

I'm optimistic because he has pulled it of several times and that's a hard fact.

It's not predictable and it's uncomfortable because it leaves us as bystanders in SE,s carnival of horrors and oddities.  We all crave order  and predictability but unless you are top dog this is simply unavailable.

We may not make it but it won't be just because evans is ****, which of course he clearly isn't . We have had spells of outstanding Rotherham football each season.

As Darwin suggested it's the environment that plays the greatest part in producing the adaptation. Credit it to evans, we live in a desert and he manages to often create an oasis.

Excellent points made by Derby, Luvpud, Exeter and Ian.  I predicted that we'd struggle this season because the Blackpool factor and both Millwall and Wigan persevering with wrong managers for too long wouldn't be repeated.  Exeter makes some good points about investment BUT we haven't played those teams yet.  When the fixtures came out it was obvious to all that August would be crucial.  These are games we can't afford to squander.  If we don't go down I shall be amazed.  Evans is clueless at this level.
