...he can't refuse. Herbie says he rarely posts on MM (over 2500 posts is "rare" indeed ) and never to criticise other members (obviously forgetting his post the other day calling our K a "disgrace") but this time K has gone too far in daring to criticise RUFC players ( although Herbie is quite happy to get the knife in to ex-players like Pringle) and Herbie wants a boycott of the caddish K threatening never to post again. The phrase "Get a life you sad bunch of rrsewipes" springs to mind.
Nice post...I'm sure you don't mind if I stick it on MM
Wasn't it Paddymiller that you once threatened to "stick it on"? That of course was during your heyday on MM when your free medical tips gained you an enthusiastic following and the mods turned a blind eye to your occasional lapses.
On a slightly more serious note this episode to me is typical of a problem evident for years on MM. To put it simply it's not what you say but who says it. Thus Kempo makes a fairly harmless jocular comment and Herbie demands his head. Yet one of the inner circle can ask if a player is "crap" and gets no criticism from Herbie or anyone. And don't say the poster was only asking a question. I've seen him operate for years and he always poses his frequently controversial and provocative comments as questions because he lacks bottle.
Herbie has made over 2500 posts and the only one I can remember is the one saying he doesn't post!
I fully agree re the mock indignation which is really just a personal attack on a particular individual...in this case me!
People are slowly but surely moving over and drift theory would suggest that we will get the decent posters leaving MM and joining us on here.
Yes, Herbie's contribution has been eminently forgettable. I am put in mind of another star of MM who frequently objected to OT posts with a "I thought this was a footie site" and similar interjections. That poster never started a football thread and even more bizarrely hardly ever contributed when someone else did. "People are strange when you're a stranger..."
