Why sign Buxton and then play that donkey at right back? Play him at centre back in place of Thorpe by all means but not at right back.

And someone please tell him to sort his hair out!

Halford was played out of position today. I think SE may be looking for a right back.

Surely we signed Buxton to play right back?

True, but who plays right back when Buxton is not fully fit? There does not appear to be any cover when Buxton is absent.

Richardson would be a better option than Halford.

Halford I fear will play every game, in different positions even if he plays poorly, think evo committed to this when he signed

That was the worst performance by a rotherham captain I have ever seen, yes he was out of position but he made basic errors, not closing players down, playing passes without looking, hardly won an header in either box and at the end of the game he went off without coming to applaud the fans. However I think Evans caused a lot of that with some awful decisions.

1. Playing him at right back when Thorpe has played there in preseason

2. Not switching them iafter 30 mins when it clearly wasn't working

3. I believe Halford and collins have played together as Central defenders at forest so that was an obvious pairing

4. Not playing the natural fit right back in Richardson

5. Making Halford captain should have been smallwood, as Darren that sits next to me says it needed to be an established Rotherham player that knew the Rotherham way

6. Leaving the captain decision a secret until 2:55 what are we running a school boys team

sometimes Evans makes a series of awful decisions and today was one of those days, made it hard for Halford today

We should really have a seperate thread on the tactics coz they were abysmal.

It was the worst performance I can recall at NYS. The worry is I didn't see anything remotely near last season's standard.

We are in the ****. It will not be easy to fix.

SE got it so wrong it was embarrassing. Our 5 were redundant from the first till the last. He changed it at 3-1 down when it was a no brainer to change it after 15 minutes. They sat deep allowed our line to advance slowly forward and hit the wide areas where we had no cover and those there were woefully out of position.

Clamity can't describe it.

Agree halford was very poor today.
