FAO Jvmiller on MM - Virus

Like your rants but upon visiting your page got what you see on the image. 😓 - was a swine to get rid of

Its not actually a blue screen of death just made to look like one in a webpage. The box that pops up also has audio speaking the text!

Dunno whether a poster on MM could link into this

whats best way to get rid. I recently got my first virus on my android. Only way round it is to use a different search engine but it still catches me out from time to time somehow.

Its part of his popup ad campaign, unfortunately someone else who'd rather make measly pennies while not having an inkling of the kind of content it's pushing to their site.

I'd go into your browser settings and delete all history, cookies etc get a virus checker from play store

Ian, plenty of security available for Android and Smartphone.

I don't recommend any it`s down to personal choice.

Tried quite a few, the one I am using at the moment is Avast Mobile Security.

Virus Scanner, Wi-Fi Security, Cleanup, APP Locking, Web Shield, and loads more, it`s down to how savvy you are on the

Web and ian you`re supposed to have your security set up before you use the phone. Lol.

yeah, saw that.

tis crazy that they are so far behind given the uptake of mobiles over the last several years.

I guess I have been lazy like the companies in feeling it wasnt much of an issue for mobiles...it is now unfortunately.

ian, are you sure it`s a virus and not an ad or pop up trying to get you to download a dodgy app.

If it is definitely a virus you will have to do a little bit more than Ex suggested, deleting browser history and cookies wont work.

You will need to put the phone into Safe Mode then find out which App is the dodgy one.

All viruses on the Android are put onto our phones by dodgy apps, just stick with Google Play app store and you will be fine.

Removing the virus (if it is one ) should take around five minutes.

                                     Happy Browsing   smile
