Following the roaring success of my post on "Musicals" I intend to have a regular submission on films and TV mini-series. I am becoming a big fan of Australian shows and enjoyed the Gallipoli series although I found Kody Smit McPhee (I think that's his name anyway- he was the kid in The Road with Aragorn) a bit unconvincing and his hat was far too big for his head.
Other Australian efforts I can recommend are the Jack Irish movies with Guy Pearce. Excellent and I am glad to say ABC have commissioned a six-part series for later this year.
Theres a good aussie soap on at the moment. It was originally commissioned for 5 episodes but following the death of several of the cast today it looks likely to end
