Apparently, this site is being criticised because no one is mounting a "Back to MM" campaign to match Kempo's "Move to Banter" effort. I am therefore starting one and when I can think of any good reasons to return to that advert-ridden palace of cliquedom I will list them. Laughably, one respected poster on both sites stated we had nothing to compare with Frog's Match Reports!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can only assume he's never actually partaken because they are truly crap. They tell you nothing about what is happening in the game and seem to consist mainly of daft comments interspersed with emoticons.

The end is nigh for MM. It cannot continue in its present form. Too much abuse being dished out by some on there.
Too right, Andy. I don't know Exeter but some of the remarks by Howdy in particular are outrageous and would be reined in by any decent mods. To suggest they derive from "principle" is a joke. They are idiotic and nasty. Almost every business and forum started life when someone involved in another business or forum said to themselves "I think I can do this better." There's nothing sly or disloyal about it.
In the case of Millersmad this is particularly daft. It's not a members' forum it's a bloody commercial franchise. What is the single most important thing about a decent members' forum? That ultimately it reflects the wishes of its members. And does MM do this? Don't make me laugh. Every time Football Mad introduce some new crappiness the operators of MM shrug and say there's nothing they can do about it. Some democracy, eh. MM survives for one single reason and that is a bunch of clowns are desperate to preserve their self-selected status as members of the inner circle. Pathetic.
Would agree with that Ridgeway, I found the level of abuse intolerable really, even the 'off topic' posts would rarely encourage a decent debate but would descent into name calling and squabbling.
Its also very cliquey, many of them know each other and respond accordingly, thats fine, but some posters not in the 'in crowd' who did not contribute too often were generally ignored or ridiculed. It put me off taking part as much as I would have liked. Heres hoping this site will develop into decent platform for news and proper exchange of views and debate.
I like quite a few posters on MM but there are more I can't stand, some really horrid views and behaviour on that board. I stopped posting a long time ago.
With balance in mind I'm just trying to find a reason to say 1-0 to MM, but other than organic numbers as it had a 10yr start - I can't find one. As for the abuse, I realise I upset a few who thought it unethical selling the wears so to speak, and its understandable. But at the end of the day all I wanted was to create an alternative place, free from the shackles of the Mad network, and one that we can all contribute to if we want. You can see that affections can be created in these places, and that's what I want MB to be, somewhere you can get in from work, chuck the kids in bed, crack open a beer, pimms or glass of wine or whatever (last one was for the ladies), and put the Millers world, sporting world, and screwed up world we live in to rights - that's all
I used to love posting on MillersMAD,but it seems to have died a death since Deano stopped posting!
There were some good posters on there in the past (there still are), but sadly there were (still are) some numpties who seem to want to abuse any poster who has a different opinion to their own! .... :'(
This site is a lot more active of late and continues to get better. I am afraid MM is so unuser friendly and is awfully quiet compared to its hay day. onwards and upwards.

Twodlad, I am involved with a number of forums on different areas of interest and one site operator took an approach that MM ought to have copied. He pointed out that while it was natural and understandable for people to talk to other people on the site who they knew well that this had reached the stage where "...new members are being ignored by established members. Posts made by newcomers often attract few or no responses while identical posts from old hands are received enthusiastically. The turnover (ie., loss) of new members is now a serious problem..."
Heman, regarding your point 4 I have approached Kempo to see if he can persuade his lady friend from Malawi to join us on here. Corner is one of the last hold-outs on MM; most of the other women including UFO long ago fled to Vital to escape relentless sexism.
Agree with Heman re what this site lacks but I am sure it will come in time.
I am sure people will continue to drift over and it's likely to be the more reasonable posters.
If some of the riff raff join and start their abuse then Exeter will just warn them and if not heeded will send them into cyberspace.
Personally I would welcome riff raff if they are prepared to change their behaviour.....a clean slate is nearly always a good starting point.
In my view one of the major factors in the downfall of MM is the very poor moderating......I cannot recognise a moderator from one of the abusive clique.
Everyone would be welcome but behaviour must be reasonable, don't mind intensive disagreement but abuse is a no no. Can't say I am overly fond of racists either.
The stats are way up on here since the change, that's no coincidence is it? While my friends and family would probably label me as an opinionated gob s****, emerging Victor Meldrew - I am probably ****phobic and have particularly wrong strong views on anti capitalism and why integration of Religions within a society will never work, I don't spout it publicly 😃 - and that's nearly crossing the line without warning myself!
And there's the point, everyone has an opinion, it's knowing where is right and wrong to exercise those legally and ethically - and that's the distinction undesirables cannot make or don't care about withholding.
But I will also say I can't stand racism too and sexism
