Women's FA Cup Final on prime time BBC today. I can't help feel TS is missing a trick here by not starting a team. Loads of publicity and in 5 years lots of clubs will have got in on the act.
There is a Ladies team that is affiliated to the club, but like most ladies teams the affiliation is a loose one.
I think the professional clubs could do a lot more to support the female game. There was the unseemly incident at Huddersfield last season where the club and the ladies team had a bit of a fall out over the support given and the club responded by cutting all ties and telling the ladies team that they would no longer allow them to use the club crest on their kit. Very childish and very petty.
They are called Rotherham United Ladies F.C. and currently play in the Midlands Division One which is essentially the fourth tier of the English Women's game.
S8, I stand corrected. As you say there is already a women's team affiliated to RUFC. This actually adds to my point. The team should be moved to NYS and TS should get some serious investment going. Women's football may be the next big thing.
I think we should just concentrate all our resources on our present male team.
I have no doubt that the ladies have now taken off, but we cannot even afford serious wages for someone like ALF, so let us just be patient.

Indeed, interest in the women's game is growing. Just imagine a Rotherham Ladies team playing at the NYS in the Women's super league during the Summer months - OK crowds may be small initially but it would generate business and contribute to the stadium expenses that would otherwise be empty.
