Certain to start opening game Roos, Halford, G. Ward, Smallwood, Maguire & Derbyshire. Make Smallwood captain. Thorpe is more or less certain to start then depends who he brings in, big striker? + if 1st choice full backs are fit. Against Leicester Richardson looked alot fitter than last season, could play either full back position.

This could be the best of the 7? Windows Evans has produced, we needed it. Its good that you cant pick 3/4 of the team, let them play and fight it out see what comes out on top. Green and Richardson have to be 2nd choices for me though, we have an abundance of others who can play where they do and we need to give them game time

Left back is going to be the real problem for us, if Mattock doesn't make it then we really are short of options. Newell looked OK against Mainz and could be a decent understudy if we sign him up. Roos starts in goal no issues there. Central defence pairing will be Thorpe and Collins with Halford starting at right back.

In the middle, it has to be Smallwood ahead of Green as the enforcer. Then the dilemma, do you play 2 attackers (Derbs + 1 of McGuire/Ward/Bowrey) or look for creativity and goals from midfield? Personally, I would go for Derbyshire as a lone striker but with strong midfield attacking options supporting him. Frecks and G Ward giving us that creativity going forward with White on the left and Ladesma on the right both can get forward in support of Derbs.

And if that's the starting eleven just think what the bench would be with potential game changing options all over the park.

Roos
Halford Thorpe Collins Mattock/Newell
Smallwood
Ledesma Frecks G Ward White
Derbyshire

SE sign Newell give him the shirt, its up to him to keep it. Side:

Roos

Buxton/Richardson Thorpe Halford Newall

Maguire Frecks Smallwood G. Ward White

Derbyshire

No chance Collins not starting - more likely he will be captain.
