Indeed, for both parties - 2 year deal at Malmo will take him to 34. Of course fee is undisclosed but we are sure to have made a profit on him given his international status.

Very considered responses.

Obviously he was to many a star man and certainly he has been as much a part of us as any player these last few seasons.

Let's hope it's another progressive sign...

Deffo been a star acquisition for us.

We have come a long way and these decisions are going to get harder the longer we stay in this division.

Our 2 key assets remain and that's good  enough for me.

This is going to be a problem.
Firstly Evans can't have foreseen arnis departure and therefore was well integrated in his game plan, he now has to either alter or find a replacement that has not been scouted for.

Secondly I'm sure Evans wouldn't have wanted such an influential player to have been sold so where does it leave him?
He wanted to resigne Pringle and Morgan, both gone. Arnason gone. Evans off to a team that can back his ambition?

I may be way off the mark but unless this was our preseason plan it's all going .... Up.

Not sure it's true he wanted pringle and Morgs that much. Remember both weren't offered new deals till end of season and we accepted millwall bid.

Agree he can't have forseen arnie going but he and TS both must have accepted a decent offer because he had a year left

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion evo is all at sea about this. He is pragmatic when it comes to players as he has shown time and time again.

Don't players usually retire from international footy if they're feeling that time is catching up with them? I think there's more too this. Arni as we know was the subject of public naming and shaming outbursts and perhaps he'd had enough? From our playing prospective surely he'd have been ok for another 1-2 seasons?

I said after Pringle- rats -sinking ship

We foresaw a while ago nothing short of an overhaul would need to happen this summer and that's with Morgan, Pringle & Arnie not on the radar to go. We now need to sign 10 quality players to keep us in this league & so far have 3 who no doubt will warm the bench when we find better loan players.

Obviously there's time yet but this summer is make or break for us. If we don't survive & extend / further develop NYS there is only one way for us as we blatantly cannot compete in this league given the infrastructure we currently possess. So far I am far from convinced 4th bottom is achievable & talk of mid table is utterly delusional unless some serious investment in players is used.

I agree with Andy and Ian, SE's not daft and I think in all honesty if he wanted to keep Pring's and Morgan he'd have made more of an effort earlier.

Given how Broadfoot and Wood coped during the last few games I think he's made his mind up that with cover, we're no worse off at the back, potentially better.

Pring's had the sweetest left foot in the Championship but not convinced his style of play suited Evans. I think he became more of a luxury rather than the team player Evans expects. I'd expect a couple of midfielders to come in with a higher work ethic and more pace but time will tell if he manages to secure that.

On to the emotive topic of Arnason. Personally, I'm not devastated he's gone. He could pick out a dream pass but again I feel like he was a luxury. Slow on the ball (some would say composed), became a better defender with us but not as good as Broadfoot or Wood so why not take an excellent offer which frees up the funds to bring somebody else in?

I'm still excited about the new season and still believe that we'll finish a few places higher than last season!

In Evans and TS I trust.

Personally I wasn't bothered about Morgan and Pringle but the loss of Arni is hard to take. Class and composed he has chosen to better himself. Evans singled him out several times and I never agreed with that. What goes off in the dressing room should stay there.

Still. That's football. Onwards and upwards.
