Summer football; whats wrong with it!

My thoughts already turn towards those first few games of the season and every year I say to myself how nice it is to be in and around town and then take a leisurely walk to the ground, with everyone smiling, chatting and wearing bright colours.

The games are bright, the fans louder and more animated. We spend more and stay longer.

Isnt it time to change the football season. Who on earth wants to be freezing, cold and wet; cooped up in overcrowded pubs with smelly oafs all around fighting to the bar. Travelling in the cold and dark and extra depressed when things are dire on the pitch.

surely, no one likes winter football.

Lets have a season from February to November.

I would hope Qatar would mean an end to football being a winter sport in this country, it makes no sense grass roots and up and adversely affects participation the lower down you go. For those who have nothing to do with euros & world cups there's no justification for Aug-May season other than to keep it in line with the elite. That to me is lazy, I'm sure if they actually sat done I'm sure they could put rules / caps & restrictions in place so it would work. I'm sure football tourism would benefit too, a fair few taking in Majorca, Marseille, Barca, Fiorentina, Roma and all those other popular destinations. Can't see the Europeans taking in Sarfend & Blackpool though, Brighton and Bournemouth would prob get an increase in the OAP category

Yes to hell with tradition, let's play all sports in our wonderful summer months and just sit in front of the Gogglebox all winter watching endless repeats of the previous summer's highlights! What a great idea lads, surprised you haven't been snapped up by some top marketing company! Why do people always want to change things?
