The Millers and Football debt.

Its worth revisiting this again and again, lest we forget.

3 years ago the lowest championship wages paid was in the region of 6.5 million, with the next lowest figure being almost double that and many in excess of 20-30 million.

2 seasons ago, and the debt of the combined championship soars above 1 Billion for the first time.

Bristol Rovers spent twice their income only to finish 15 points adrift of safety.

Other clubs spent 30-40 million and got nowhere near the premiership.

The Millers have posted a turnover of 11 million with 50% on wages. This is perhaps the most prudent club in the championship and lets be honest we were good value in retaining our status.

Despite the mantra of money=success many clubs in relative terms have succeeded; Burnley, palace, Bournemouth, Brentford, charlton, watford etc ; in cutting costs and staying in touch, while others have floundered. And , there are many with huge wages who having fallen far are still in free fall.

Next season the lowest placed premiership club benefits to the tune of 87 million pounds from the new deal, plus the parachute payments over 3 years.

TS, bangs on about value for money. Hes 100% right.
