Difficult to know if Morgans quote is before or after his improved deal offer. However, either way its a cheeky nudge in his own direction.
It does suggest he wants to stay but I wonder what difference in wage he would tolerate if Bolton offer more.
Both Wages and length of contract will be on a players mind at this age (30). of course playing will be important but what manager wont promise first team football.
If you wanted to stay at a club what financial loss would you take?
Relatively speaking Id take a hit of 10% but no more. Can the Millers get that close to Boltons wage structure. its doubtful.
Agree with you Ian, this is a call to the club to maybe increase the offer. Like Morgs but he reaches 30 in June and naturally wants the best for himself and his family. Bolton must be a good shout higher in their terms or he would surely prefer to stay where he is comfortable. Family, schools etc all come into this. Maybe Bolton is his last chance to make a killing but in reality, how much more will they have offered. It's always pi**ing it down in Lancashire any way.
Would like Morgs to re sign but certainly would not bust the wage structure to help that process along. Matt Derbyshire did that which is why we have a problem re signing players coming to the end of their contracts who compare their lot to MD's. At least now, we have a MD in form and hopefully setting the standard next year. That might keep a few players less vocal.
Heard nothing about Pringle either .......................
