The shadow, wrote Carl Jung, is part of the psyche and an indispensable part of reaching maturity. The shadow is the dark and hidden part of us that is often not on show in public. It might be subdued due to all manner of fears and worries, especially the fear of being out of control.
Yet, without unleashing this force we are doomed to a life of missed opportunity, anxiety and depression-a life half lived.
The classic tales: Dracula, Frankenstein, Batman, Luke skywalker; and cult figures like the Krays, Hitler, etc, are all examples of the male psyche struggling to find balance in the self (this applies to females also in respect of the duality of female and male psyches in each individual). As you can see, there is often great pain, contradiction, violence and destruction both within the individual and those close to them and in the case of the Krays and Hitler their shadow drama was so powerful it encompassed many, many others.
So, this weeks Joker is the shadow.
The Shadow burns to be released and only the well-balanced can hope to control its desires and use its influence for Good.
Those unwitting individuals who don't realise they are being manipulated from this psychic force within are doomed to their own destruction.
Caution and force need to be conquered in equal measure to come away from life victorious.
And so in football, the away win is the ultimate expression of this mastery over the opposing forces of defense, attack and counter-attack

Another fascinating week in the mysterious Nostradamus millers banter league.
Andy struck gold for the first time with the top score of 59, but could have been more handsomely rewarded if he had got his shadow complex in line and been at the start in time to predict the opening game.
The shaodow well and truly got hold of One Kevin Kilmore who placed his shadow card on a home win.
Only Andy got points on the Derby game and 3 people correctly predicted the Blackburn v millwall game.
