Nostradamus Millers Banter Fixtures for Friday 3rd April-Saturday 4th April

This weeks fixtures are in two parts thought not quite equal in number. Many things in life are best seen in parts if only to allow the human being to experience things in an orderly and therefore measured way that allows exploration, understanding and comfort. However, there is a price...

Many talk about the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.

Scientific endeavours are reliant on systems, parts, and reductionism at the expense of TOE (theory of everything).

Many things in life make no sense whatsoever despite our human intelligence and so magic, philosophy, cosmology, and even scientific endeavour continue to reach out for the key to the mystery.

So is life-so is football.

Life often imitates football as well it might seeing as it is full of alchemy. Our very own Tony Stewart has taken lead and turned it to Gold before our very eyes. Of course, unpredictability and a high price are paid by many in pursuit of the elixir. Marie Curie (death by toxicity) Friedrich Nietzsche (insanity) Albert Camus (depression), Freud ( throat cancer-ironically from smoking cigars)

So, I know many of you are searching for the correct formula to beat the Nostradamus curse but like many a greek tragedy there is always sorrow around every corner...

In true dichotomous duality and alchemical diabolical magic this weeks Joker is the Philosophers stone, famed to turn any base metal or even the human soul in to pure gold or spirit. All you have to do is correctly guess one Game with a Goal scored in the 80th minute or beyond to claim 10 extra points. However, if in your chosen game a Goal is scored in the first 10 minutes you get nothing at all on that game-Nothing! . Of course, you can always choose not to play with The Philosophers stone, hahahahahaha.......

Already too late for you OKK if you're serious about your philosopher's stone? Or is there a bit of reverse psychology intended there?

I'm gonna make my predictions on Friday. I'll be feeling Good then. I need to have a couple of boiled Eggs with soldiers for breakfast and then mull over the fixtures.

Well the Philosophers stone sorted the men from the boys and overall fortune favoured the brave with both (ian) and unifier collecting an extra 10 points. interestingly, of those who played the stone non were worse off as they scored zero points anyways. Is there a lesson in there?

This weeks scores (in case you want to check them):

ian 57
Flicker 48
Nez 48
KK 39
MM 38
Unifier 38
Andy 38
T/C 34

N.B. post any amendments on this thread if you think I have anything wrong. cheers.

Nez cements his lead with another dazzling array of spot on predictions.
Ian overtakes KK with the power of the Philosophers stone scoring 18 on one game.
Flicker and Unifier despite only playing 2 games thus far are showing that if they had turned up for the games when it was wet and cold they may be top of the pile.
Everyone had a decent week with no one dipping into the 20s like last week.

eyes down for Monday.
