If Evans was to go and one day he will, who would be the best replacement?

If we're playing silly guessing games again, Pep Guardiola.

It would be a very important decision.

steve and Tony are a great team, so it would be about replicating that.

Tony is somewhat eccentric and so it would be difficult to know what kind of chap he would go for. He certainly wouldnt want a fancy dan and I think he is more knowledgeable now. He likes ambition, attitude, and energy.

No dead pan man for Tony.

My 3 would be in ascending order:

3. Chris Coleman if hes done with wales.

2. Peter Taylor.

1. Bobby Williamson would be my number one candidate. Great track record. vast experience, a strikers mentality mixed with astute orgainisation and an affinity with the millers.

Hot shot Bobby not really pulled up any trees though has he since his Kilmarnock days, he was awful at Plymouth - I think the game might have passed him by, especially as he's spent the majority of his time in some middle eastern nowhere land the last few years. Peter Taylor, if we ever get that joker in I'd rip up my season ticket. He's about as opposite as Steve Evans you're ever gonna get, and boy is he drole. Coleman is a bit of a shout though, Championship & international experience, seems quite fiery but never airs his laundry in public. Not sure whether we'd afford him though.

For me Uwe Rosler - I think he would be realistic & fit where we are & what we need to do while we year on year attempt to survive & expand at the same time

I think bobby has done well albeit in a mix of environments.

kept Plymouth up in championship and sacked in his second season after a handful of games.

A cup in Scotland and European football.

A title or 2 in Africa and 2 national sides.

A miller.

Can't be too negative about that experience.

If Rosler became millers manager I'd sort of scowl but be intrigued as to how he would fit in.

All a bit hypothetic, as Steve isn't going just yet. Who knows, by the time he does, there may be a completely different set of names in the managerial world to talk about......

SE is irreplaceable as a manager.

However, in the future he could be replaced by a Coach. Make of that what you will. smile

After my initial flippant post on this topic I decided to give the matter some real thought, and because I am sure that we are looking some way into the future,I came to this conclusion. Kari Arnason, this was after reading the report in the Yorkshire Post on our game at Huddersfield. If I were a cleverer person IT wise I would have attached it. The report is really Karis analysis of the game the tactics employed etc. It reminded me of the type of analysis carried out by the top European coaches. You really need to read it to see what I am talking about. This is a man with a deep understanding of the game and the tactics that need to be employed to achieve success. Kari will make an excellent Manager/Coach in the future. Let's hope it's with us.
