wigan could afford to get a quality centre half and we couldnt afford him earlier in the season, if we don't spend on a decent defender NOW this week we will struggle to stay up we really will
We have made a fight of it so far now evans has to create a siege mentality and get them all up for every game, only 110% effort and a bringing in some quality
we need a result on saturday and we must beat wigan
I watched a program on statistics about global warming. They used premiership football to prove a mathematical formula. It worked. It proved that points gained is linked to wages paid. We are small fish in a big pond which needs to find a variable that goes against the grain of indisputable maths and that variable is a new quality centre half to back Arnie. Have we got the financial clout to dig a top quality centre half out of the hat? Nope. So we need to find another variable that no-one has thought of.
I think something unusual was happening at Bolton. They built on lots of free transfers and loans, and of course they had a system much like Wimbledon.
Interesting that Big Sam has gone on but kinnear didn't do much after in terms of top flight.

How can we generate team spirit when the side changes so much from game to game.Players are not here long enough to learn each other's names. Yes we need to show the same enthusiasm and determination that Wimbledon showed in the nineties but that won't happen because our situation is vastly different. They had a settled group of players who all worked for one another.
We have some talented individuals in some positions what we don't have is a team of grafters. Can we stay up? Of course we can but it will be a struggle. This set of players needs to dig in and grind out some results between now and the end of the season and show the will and determination needed for survival. Miller's supporters have the right to demand that from the players. Performances like the one against Cardiff are just not acceptable.

I agree with that TC, and its that sort of thing we have to learn from for next season. A settled side that gets to know each other will get better together rather than chopping and changing and everyone wondering who they will be playing with.
A solid defensive unit will get better game by game, this unit should be constructed with the right players with a view to play together week in week out. That for me is the most important thing to get right. Then build the Midfield and attack from that. If you are hard to beat and dont concede silly goals then you have a chance.

yes he got ill first when with the dons but despite other attempts at management never quite pulled it off again. I know he continued to periodically have more problems with his heart and health in general. Big sam too but clearly not as effected by it.
For all Alladyce had done at Bolton her never got a big job. Yet others with more s**** just slip in to them. I guess its a bit like falling in love, or buying things-we tend to go with the unusual and the bright glittery things. oHHHH! Look! bright lights. Anyone can look the part.
