TBH I was worried when I saw that Milsom & Broadfoot were in the starting line up, surely Morgs & Pringle HAVE to come back in for Watford!!

My doubts about Milsom haven't been helped.

Away from home he has no defensive function.

Haven't been so can't say too much.

Dropped right in it now.

Huge loss.

Not been to the game so I'll not criticise any of the players!

It sounded like it's just been one of those games where no matter how hard we try, we just can't score!

We matched Wolves for chances created, and most were on target, but they were going straight at their keeper!

We lost 5-0, but as daft as it sounds, we could've actually WON this game!

I'd like to see Evans defend his team selections for this game, but saying that, it's gone now, we have to fight like mad at Watford, who will be like a wounded animal after being thumped 3-0 at home by Norwich today, & get ready for Millwall AND the month of March which will probably decide if we stay in the Championship or not!!!

I can't see us getting 'owt at Watford because they'll be wanting to bounce straight back after their home defeat today, but the Millwall game is MASSIVE!

We CANNOT afford to lose this one!   no

Go down to the wire, one bad game doesn't end it for us. We can do it.

Well, ive been today chaps, what can i say, i don't think we were poor, we just couldn't handle the pace they possess up front, all they had to do was play a decent through ball and that was that. Having said that, we could've, indeed should've had at least two goals, their keeper pulled two great saves out, we hit a post, Derbyshire missed a sitter, Sammon had two free headers straight into the keeper's arms. That was definitely not a deserved scoreline.

Morgan straight back in for me tuesday, i'm not particularly blaming Broadfoot, just Morgan can organise better, Fryers had a decent game.

Ward had a quiet game, though i think he's a very good footballer, Hammil was good going forward, poor the other way, it just didn't work for Milsom, not particularly his or any other players fault today though, i recko we should've played with Arnie as sweeper today in a different formation, but hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it!

ooops-move on.One bad result doesn,t make us a bad team just as losing 2-0 to us doesn,t make Ipswich rubbish. When we beat the Owls it will not make them a bad team(mainly cos they already are one!)biggrinbiggrin

Let's not over react to this defeat lads, with our lack of pace in defence this kind of result has been coming for some time. We were beat for pace today by an excellent counter attacking team. Before we start criticising the Managers team selection, remember this as one of our old Managers of the past Jack Mansell once told me, Anyone can pick the team after the game, the Manager has to do it before the kick off. Let's take a minute to examine the stats from the game, Shots on target Wolves 6 Rotherham 7, Shots of target Wolves 8 Rotherham 7, Corners Wolves 2 Rotherham 7, Possession Wolves 51 per cent Rotherham 49 per cent. And to quote the Wolves Manager, it wasn't really a 5-0 game to be honest but if your finishing is that good that's what happens. Fast paced attack comes up against a set of slow defenders, we can see the outcome. We are unlikely to come up against a set of attacking players with the quality of Wolves for the rest of the season. And before anyone says it, yes we are likely to come up against a quality side on Tuesday at Watford but their front two do not have the pace of the Wolves attack. We have to hope that Morgan and Hunt are fully fit for Tuesday as this will certainly strengthen the defence. We just have to hope that our forwards are on target and are not as wasteful as they were at Wolves. It is possible that we could get something from the Watford game, but the big test will be the Millwall game which is a must win. We have to remain positive so keep the faith lads and let's put the Wolves game behind us. Up the Millers.

Ok, firstly as Towd Codger says, overreaction is not what's required here. The game was never a 5-0 and even though the players looked pretty deflated by the end of the game, we were overrun by speedy strikers and that was the difference. Our midfield created some good chances which we just didn't take (Derbyshire although much improved, still has work to do to convince). Wolves were happy to let us play and hit us on the break, make no mistake this is a weak point of our team. I'd defend Arnason to the hilt, but speedy he is not, and Broadfoot isn't the most nimble either. Wolves exploited this to the nth degree. We will come up against teams like this regularly if we stay in this league and we must learn quickly. Getting in a fast centre half is easier said than done, but must surely be a priority for Evans in the loan market and indeed the Summer. Strange as it sounds, there were reasons to be cheerful yesterday. Our midfield battled as well as theirs and we continue to progress into a unit that the passing game at the heart of its ethos. Evans' interview yesterday was quite good for me. It was a "bad day at the office" and most things that could have gone against us did so defensively. The statistics in the above post don't lie, it flattered Wolves incredibly and didn't tell the true story of the game. We'll go to Watford with morale lower than it should be after that, but we will give them a game and I'm convinced we'll beat Millwall next week, which is the proverbial '6 pointer'.

In the grand scheme of things the only thing that could hurt us is the Goal difference from this game not losing the three points. It was always going to be a hard game to get anything out of, a point would have been great, a win would have been a reach.

Onwards now to the Hornets, lets hope we can put up a good performance and maybe take a chance or two infront of goal.
