There is now a post on MM about guerrilla marketing adverts for Asda that redirect to their site instead of the messageboard.  Advice ranges from installing an adblock (sensible) and changing proxy settings!!!  It is unbelievable that some people would still put up with all this bullsh!t than sign up on here - Footy Mad is rife with this stuff and who knows what else if you are surreptitiously redirected to other sites without your express intent.  How long before they enforce their no Adblock script and charge users the £2 for the pleasure of not being bombarded with virus ridden guerrilla pop-ups and redirects?

Appalling isn't it, when the bare cost of this site is about £15 a month - ok I do this for free and that's not included, but just shows that you don't need a mega company with mega costs to run these kinds of things

I regularly check other football teams forums and I have yet to see one that looks better and functional as millers banter.

For no particular reason I seem to have stopped looking at millers mad. I think it's because it is a virus ridden site that jumps all over the place and I cannot be bothered with it.

And it's a peeing contest.

The thing that gets me about the site is if you complain to the mods about these things then you get ridiculed by them and others and told that redirections to a **** site are actually your fault!

Yes, I saw that exchange Kempo, pretty laughable.  

These aggressive 'marketing companies' that get paid per click so they will use every trick in the book to fool/trick you into visiting the 'marketed' site so they get their money.  Most reputable sites don't entertain these charlatans because they realise user experience is more important. Can't believe that there are still people on MM defending this.

The thing about this site is that it is what it says on the tin, Miller's Banter. No contest between egos, no one pushing their own vested interests, no abusing fellow posters, respect for the point of view of others. I will say what I have said before Exeter, thank you for giving a Towd Codger a site that he enjoys viewing and posting on.
