Found this article and I am amazed that I had never heard this story. Does anyone remember this October 1st 1962?

Being of a certain age I remember this very well. Me and my mates had heard a rumour that this game was going to take place, we found out the kick off time from one of the Miller's staff who was unable to get us into the ground. After a bit of negotiation with the landlord of the Millmoor Hotel, we watched the game from the backyard of the pub which overlooked the ground.
I had bought a ticket for the England v France match at Hillsborough in order to see one of my favourite foreign players of the time, the French centre forward Raymond Kopa, who unfortunately did not play as his son had been killed in a car crash.
Great memories of that Miller's victory tinged with the tragedy suffered by Raymond Oops.

Don't know what happened with the last line of my post,no disrespect intended. Last two words should have read Raymond Kopa.

Scorers were Bill Cassidy, Ken Houghton and Albert Bennett. Great days, great players.
