Joe Skarz was one of my favourite players, not flash but relyable. I was surprised to see him dropped in the first place and then not get a game again???? Im sad to see him go.
All the best Joe and thanks for all you've done for the Club.
Much shock expressed about this decision which surprises me because I think it is fairly obvious that Skarz has reached beyond the level of his ability. Very effective at L2 and L1, he was unfortunately found wanting a little in the Championship. Not quick enough to get back into position and as a result not attack minded enough.

I think people's concern lies with the fact that we have one permanent left back at the club in Mat Sadler, who will never ever play for the team.
Other than that we have a player on loan that we'll never be able to afford permanently, Rob Milsom, or Kirk Broadfoot.
Or maybe there's someone lined up for left back coming in? Thanks for the service Joe. Agree the Championship might be a step too high. Plenty of toys being thrown out of the pram and wrists being slashed on MM .... came over here for some sanity. :)
I just find that releasing Skarz when we don't have a replacement is foolhardy. I now get why Milsom played LB - Joe and Evo had fallen out. Milsom is no left back - remember Wembley?
So, we have Zeki Fryers but we can't depend on yet another SHORT term loanee. He's only come to get game time. Doesn't care a stuff about whether we stay up or get relegated.
Yes, I agree Joe who has been a fab servant to the club and probably wasn't Championship standard but to release him without having another LB just baffles me ............ again I'm baffled.
Millers4ever. Just wondered.how do you know they have fallen out ?.We get this type of comment a lot. What i have read, does not sound like it.From what evans says.

Not heard anything.
Going on the fact that Skarz wasn't even on the bench last Saturday. Instead, we played Milsom at LB and Milsom imo is not good at LB (Wembley as an example).
Why wouldn't SE have Skarz on the bench if he knew that he wasn't going to play Fryers for 90 minutes ?
Suggests to me a fall out and in the press today Skarz reportedly wanted game time and was unhappy sitting it out. That, allied to the fact Joe was missing from the bench suggests a parting of the ways was inevitable
just going on the words.Had fallen out.evans says always welcome back. But with Skarz.says he also welcome back a training ground also. Not just welcome back. You may have meant may have fallen out.not had fallen out.
If we go down, (a strong chance), Skarzy is an established L1 defender. Surely it would have been best to wait 4 months. If deemed not good enough for this league & we stay up then make the decision, if we did go down we know he can do a job.
This discarded tissues ethos is really getting rank now. If we don't survive I think the crowd will turn
Wish I'd have used that framework in a few of my decisions...Ian! Ian! Eeeeeaaaaaañnn!!!!! Are you listening to me, or am I not important!!!! Well! I'm waiting! And why haven't you done the dishes yet!

If we don't survive the next thing we'll see is people with 'The End is Nigh' placards marching up and down New York Way and Don Street.
I'm not worried about that particular scenario. Oh no, the time to worry is if I'm approached by a gaggle of men and women clutching copies of the Watchtower asking if I have got any worries or concerns.
I do respect other peoples' reasonable beliefs. Even the Witnesses. But I'm not, and I repeat, I am not reading the Watchtower.
