Revell's departure got me thinking about marking the 'greats' who have represented RUFC. Many clubs have statues of their heroes outside their grounds. The concourse outside NYS is an ideal site for such memorials. I for one would consider Revell as a prime candidate for such recognition - after all, he provided the crowning glory at my most memorable day of supporting RUFC in over 50 years. Regardless of that magnificent fete though, I consider he has personified everything that this modern, successful club has represented over the past couple of years and for that I reckon he deserves acknowledgement.
If such a project was to be undertaken, who do you reckon should feature? Let's say five spots are available.
For starters - Watson, Moore, Towner, Lee, Revell.
Only five? Some good choices there but surely no walk would be complete without the likes of Hughes, Fern, Guest, Goater, Robins, Williamson, Pollitt to name but a few.
It's got to be exclusive executive club.
Great who have achieved something extra special. What that is may be a matter of opinion.
For me only these fit the bill:
Ronnie
Revell
Evans
Stewart
Guest
Watson
And jesus, (not jesus) for the life of me I can't remember his name ( obviously needs a statue)...Ex forrest...car crash. ..wembley goal scorer...a guest at nys recently. ..nope totally gone. ..anyway that guy, lol
