I noticed when watching it unfold live and have seen it later that...the filming from the building opposite showed clear pictures of the gunman unshielded on 3 or 4 different occasions....Surely he should have been taken out by the shooter who was situated in the building opposite.

The authorities were pretty confident of resolving the conflict without loss of life...I wonder if they were over confident during the negotiations....my guess is that it will turn out that a number of those shot were shot by the personnel who were storming the building.

Its much easier to be wise after the event but it all seemed a bit of a shambles to me.

I hope everyone will learn from this because of course it will happen again.
