The obvious answer is yes but...
To stop us leaking goals we are playing with 2 holding midfielders who are sat just in front of the back 4. In front of these is Lawrence who is the link to the forward.
This means that when we have got the ball Lawrence drops deep. The ball invariably goes wide but the crosses don't come in because there is no one in the box. A new striker will not change this unless it is Messi who can beat 3 players and score.
Everytime Green gets the ball he plays it backwards to a defender. Can we replace Green with someone more attack minded or will it leave us exposed at the back?
Pringle didn't put a foot wrong yesterday (apart from his right foot from 6 yards out). He was always available for the ball and not one pass went astray. People are on his case as they believe he should be like Ronaldo and skin 6 players and then whip a cross in. The fact is that most of the time there is no one in the box to cross to.
Revell played his role superbly yesterday but was a solitary figure up front. We are not going to find a striker who can play the Revell role, beat a man and then score.
The current tactics are great for restricting the opponents but even if we signed Diego Costa, we ain't going to win many games.
I have had to miss the last few games and am completely confused by what I read on here. Kempo states that Arnie and Morgan are brilliant and that we need 'have no fear of big name strikers'. Yet, I then read we have to have two holding midfielders protecting the back four. Doesn't seem to add up.
