Joe scarz. is it time to drop him

At the start of the NYS evolution we desperately struggled to find the final piece of the jigsaw.  Left back is such a difficult position to recruit even a standard player at any level.

Bob harris was eventually acquired on loan and showed what an above standard player could achieve and bring to a team. He revealed the quality we would need if we advanced up the leagues.

Joe, came and proved an able and astute signing. Perhaps even a key signing. Largely unsung in such an unglamorous position he brought a steady and rock like persona to the left flank. At times he had even excelled and produced dominant displays contributing to neat overlaps and triangles and occasionally delivering good crosses.

However, and in spite of this, I believe he had dipped significantly in form. I think it's a position thats underrated in its influence.

I think it's time Joe had a rest and we should give reece james a run of games starting today until his loan expires. We can't survive on ok. We have to inspire and RJ has the potential to allow SE to adopt a more expensive and attacking left flank.

Agree Ian. The really good sides that we have played this season have all had quality attacking full backs. Joe Skarz has been steady but he is reluctant to get too far forward. I reckon we need a full back who is willing to get behind the opposition and put in crosses from the goal line. This will allow Pringle to be much more effective by offering him an alternative whereas now he struggles to get 2 or 3 crosses in per match. Give RJ a start and let's see if we can create some chances!

I personally think Skarz will play with James playing instead of Richardson.

A change is as good as a rest when results are poor.

It just shows how peoples thoughts differ.  The absence of Skarz was a bit of a shock, he's been solid in his displays thus far in the championship and Left Back wasnt a position that was screaming out to be upgraded to me?

I just hope that nothings gone off behind the scenes and Skarz has the chance to bounce back and get back into the team once the Loanees go back.

Definitely solid, but not an enhanced role in that position and one if we can get a more attack minded player in to upgrade. RJ becomes available and SE goes for it.

time may prove me wrong, but I think he will be an important player for us and his loan hopefully extended.

Skarz being more of a defencive Lb covers Pringles more attacking nature, allowing Pringle (when played in his best position of LW) to do what he does best. Playing a Lb in a more attacking nature could open us up more down our left side? We've been too much hit and miss down the right, we dont want that down both flanks.

We got Tavs in last season and he was a big player for us but we must not forget he got a lot of help from Agaard tracking back.Skarz does not get that so much from Pringle so maybe he doesn't fancy bombing on and leaving a big hole behind him.confuse
