Radical changes

I think now is the time to be radical, yesterday was as bad as it gets. I would send back Taylor and Wordsworth if we can, move on Broadfoot, Revel, (cue abuse but this is a level too high) Brandy, Hall, Sadler loan out Brindley and Newton ( both need games).

We need a full back and centre half both with pace, a striker who can run in behind and read the game (we have one Derbyshire so play him) and a deep lying playmaker (we have one Arnie).

Ditch the long ball play a pressing game, Wood must play at the back Arnie in front of the defense in a 4 1 3 2 system. My team:

Colin

An Other, Wood, An Other, Skarz

Arnie

An Other Green Pringle

Bowery Derbyshire

Subs Morgan JCH, Newton, Thompson, Frecklington, Smallwood LeDesma.

Thoughts?

An Other is going to be tired! biggrin.Seriously not far wrong ,only problem finding the players.

Derbyshire wouldn't get in my lads u9s team. Same goes for 90% of what we've signed this summer 'to make us better'. We aren't far away, bar a couple of players with pace, but with Evans' stifling tactics we are only going one way. I'm more concerned about him losing the dressing room!

I dont disagree Henson but it's too radical (unrealistic).

Some of your decisions aren't based on evidence either. Why play the new lad and send Taylor back. Why leave Morgan out and put woods in when he hasn't played bar once.

I think we are all stumped in so much as we all have an eye for the issues, but we don't have a total realistic answer.

But basically your reasoning and team is as good as it gets this season. I agree Derbyshire and bowery need to start as they are clearly the most accomplished players we have.

I put Wood in rather than Morgan based on his record in the championship over the last 10 years and the fact he is more accomplished on the ball and we need to stop the hoof ball. Taylor for me is not an intelligent footballer or a team player

Roll on a January clear out, i think it was pretty obvious from pre season that the majority wouldn't cut it at the standard we are playing at.

Outs:
Brandy
Sadler
Broadfoot
Hall
Derbyshire
Wordsworth
Taylor

That's a pretty long list and you could probably add a few more. Criminal that we are having another mid season clear out, Evans has done wonders but his scouting methods leave a lot to be desired.

Agreed, he got it right in L2, although we were poor at the time, Jaybo & Harrison! - but since then the player acquisition has been extremely poor & the numbers game only works if you can be in the top budgets for your league (which he has year on year) - except this one! - Needs more finesse, or he needs more acquired help via his own training or bringing in extra staff that can

I had a disagreement with my lad at the game over Paul Green. My son doesn't rate him at all, saying "he can't keep the ball, can't shoot" etc. Does anyone else agree with him?

I quite like green and think he is a good player. I must admit he had a poor game yesterday but so did the rest of the team with the exception of Collin and Morgan in my book, Richardson had a fair game as well.

But one thing is for certain, this hoofing the ball up to revs has got to stop, cos it just isn't working.

I'd go along the same lines Henson but I'd go:

Collin

A.N Other.     Arnie.        A.N Other.       Skarz

                      Smallwood

LeDesma.           A.N Other.            Pringle

           Bowery.             Derbyshire

I like Arnie at centre back and think Smallwood is quality sat just in front of the back 4. LeDesma looked accomplished to me.

Well he couldn't on Saturday but then again neither could anyone in a red shirt.

For me - Green is a must in midfield given our options.

Same for me, Paul Green has to play when he's fit.

Seen Harry Maguire's name mentioned a bit recently, is he what we need? Only thing
I can think of Evans doing if another defender came in is to push Arnason into midfield.

Wondered what you thought now Neil? Liked your call at the time but perhaps with the influx of Loanees, we need to think again.  Ledesma for me and Reece James + Wootton  & Lawrence have made us a better side? Would you keep em if you have a choice? I continue to have doubts over Derbyshire and I have to say when Bowery came on against Wigan on Saturday he looked very sluggish.  I think Becchio returning would feed on to Ledesma and the goal feast would start blankstareblankstare
