Well the club have issued an apology regarding the ticket fiasco for the England U19s game, but they seem to be blaming the empty seats on school kids not turning up, when it's plain to see that the real reason was the stupid pricing where it was cheaper to buy 15 tickets (£7.50p) than it was to buy 5 tickets (£15)
Here's what they had to say .....
"Rotherham United Chief Operating Officer Paul Douglas has offered his apologies, through The Advertiser, for those who were unable to purchase seats for the England v Italy U19 International game last week at the New York Stadium.
Advertising the game as a 'sell out' three days before the game, many fans watching the game on TV, must have been dismayed to see that there were blocks of seats empty with the official crowd being given as 9,125 - nearly three thousand less than full capacity.
Mr Douglas explained that groups that had been given free tickets as part of the FA's commitment to attract young supporters had not turned up. In future Mr Douglas says that they are thinking of charging a nominal charge for these tickets which hopefully would make people think twice about just not turning up.
I mean, let's not make any bones about this, 9.125 was a brilliant crowd especially as it was Children In Need Evening but it was disappointing for people who genuinely wanted to go to the game and couldn't get tickets."
